We might get some in depth news in July

The Asylum always has a presence at San Diego Comic Con in one form or another. At their peak, there were separate panels for Z Nation and Sharknado for several consecutive years. At those panels, Asylum would almost always provide information on other projects they were doing. In 2022, the first year back since the pandemic cancellations, there was a general Asylum panel where they chatted about upcoming projects. And last year there was a Sharknado 10th Anniversary panel where they announced its return to theaters to mark the occasion, as well as a couple of smaller announcements from The Asylum.

My thinking is that if any major news was going to be announced about Z Nation, it will be in July at San Diego Comic Con. Which would be just in time for the fall TV schedule to start rolling out. That tweet about major news coming had to have meant something.

On the flip side, if we get no news from SDCC, then it's likely we aren't getting the news we were hoping for, or that the tweet about it was premature and they've had to backtrack on it behind the scenes.
