As a parent of alumni, Dubourg is not what it use to be! There are few teachers who actually care about doing their job and helping the kids (I do not understand why they don’t get rid of the bad ones & hire ones like the good teachers that are there since there is so few of the good teachers), if your child needs help also from the guidance counselor then forget it! Both my child and I made sure to contact the counselor right away when one grade wasn’t so good and it resulted in the every class being failed because my kid did not want to go to the school because no one would help even after I contacted right away. The cafeteria food is so high priced, be ready to pay on the meal card alot unless the child takes their lunch. My kids have shown me pictures of mice and bugs throughout the school INCLUDING THE CAFETERIA! Sewer leaks with feces are near the lockers, they keep transcripts from parents even when the kids not enrolled anymore even though it is against the law per FERPA act!
First of all this school is not a good place. Not only do the teachers not care about the students but they do not teach anything that would help you in life. This school has many roaches, spiders, flies, even mice. There was a mouse found in the light in the cafeteria which can be considered a health hazard. There needs to be a health inspector at this school. I also heard many people say there was a mouse in one of the classrooms. Then they make you pay $11,000 to go here but yet clearly the school isn’t getting fixed up that much. Not only did they try to keep my sisters transcripts from her but they have done it to multiple people. Even after telling the school that we have family problems going on with my grandma who has cancer. This school does not care about your wellbeing and they could care less about your grades and what you need to learn. The teachers are very disrespectful towards students and there are very few teachers that will actually care about your learning.
Bishopdubourg is a great private catholic high school to go if your kid is having trouble in class and is in need of special care. The student body has a nice diverse range of different people you can see. Also if your Christian, it even better for strength your love for Jesus
