So here’s my question should I stay with Motorcraft and use there filter FL 910S or switch over to mobile one hybrid and use their filter M1, 102 – A
First concern would be dealing with Ford dealers later on over warranty issues
Second concern, just staying loyal to the Motorcraft (Ford)
Third concern is there any real difference in the two oils &filters ?
This oil change will be at 1000 miles I have a hybrid 2024 and also I love this truck I may still be in the honeymoon stage, but she’s a beaut. Ride is good ,it quiet , 41 mpg what’s not to like ! Also, when I see them on the road, they look small but from the inside it seems like I’m in a full size vehicle lol

It's gonna be okay, brother. :)

Mobil 1 oil is more than fine. Mobil 1 filter is fine, too, though personally I stick with OEM filters for no real reason. Whichever one is cheaper is probably the move.

Nothing you have suggested is anywhere near a warranty concern. Go for it.

I’ve been using the Motorcraft Synthetic Blend and Motorcraft filter. I’ve got about 15,700 miles now with no issues. I wanted to use what’s suggested in Owners Manual through the first 3 or 4 oil changes (20,000 miles) to ensure no warranty issues if something went wrong with the engine. The 2.0 runs great and will probably change to a full synthetic at the next oil change and continue with the FL-910 filter. I have a 2011 Fusion with the 4 cylinder that uses same filter. Way over 100,000 miles and does not burn or use oil. Oil stays clean between 5000 mile changes. Don’t see a reason to change filter manufactures for the Maverick.

Yep, if you use something that cover the specs, you should be good to go.

I have the EB engine and changed my oil at 500 miles. I put in Motorcraft full synthetic and the motorcraft filter for the same concern you had. (if major warranty work needed) I even took the supplies to my mechanic and he changed it for me for $16.00. I did this so I can prove a professional changed it and I don't trust my dealer anymore who put twice the amount of oil in my Fusion a few years ago. I am going full synthetic @ 5k changes to try to get 150,000 miles out of this engine before it breaks or sludges up. after warranty is up I might switch oil if It is approved for the EB and cheaper. I am averaging 28mpg which is darn good for a truck that can tow 4k. I have the first oil filter on my workbench and will cut it open and see if any surprises inside when I get time.

I have a 2024 hybrid. Love it. No issues at 3k miles. Especially while under warranty, I would stick with Motorcraft 910S or 400S filter. Not out of loyalty. One less excuse FoMoCo can use.

At 1000 miles, your ICE has been running only part of those miles. I use my trip mileage screen - for example, it shows a trip of 8 miles and below in blue it shows 3.6 EV miles. Therefore, the ICE ran only 55% of the time. Which is why I got 56 mpg for that trip.

Using this example, with 1000 miles on your odo, the ICE ran approximately for 550 of those miles. Change oil if you want to. I think you are wasting money. Personally, I think driving with a light foot is more important than an oil change at this point in your hybrid's life.

Hard to generalize regarding how all dealers do oil changes, but mine would use a synthetic blend. They don't care. Me personally, I do my own oil changes and use hybrid specific Mobil 1 0w-20. Hybrid specific oil has extra additives to counter acid build up common in hybrid ICE because the engine doesn't always get up to operating temp for long periods, particularly in city driving where the hybrid shines.

I'm a Mobil One guy big time. I use the 910-S filter as it is a good solid filter, not junk and the visual appeal for the dealer when in for possible drivetrain issues can never be a bad thing.

I used Mobil 1 Hybrid Full Synthetic 0W-20 and the Motorcraft FL-910S as I have had excellent luck with Mobil 1 products and wanted to use the prescribed filter from Ford.
I noted that I changed the oil at 5000 miles and uploaded the receipts in the FordPass app, so no warranty concerns.

That’s all good advice. I’m leaning towards the mobile, full synthetic oil for hybrid, and the Ford filter that makes the most sense to me. They will see the filter and not question it ! Thank you all. There’s a thread here on this form talking about debris in oil at 500 miles. The guy made sense that’s why I’m changing in 1000 for the hybrid.

I got my first full synthetic oil change from dealer. No charge (usually aout $102). Dealers mobile unit ccame to my hosue and chagned oil and fied a recall. I think I will stick with the dealer.

I went with Ford's recommendation of doing first ( and subsequent oil changes) at 5000 miles and use Ford's oil and filter .

I always go to O’meara Ford here in Colorado. They have what they call a Quick Lane that’s great for getting oil changes done. I’ve been using them for a lot years. My brother always went there when lived in Colorado.
