"An elf doesn't clean up a fairy's mess." ― Imogen in A Magical Mishap — (audio)Listen (file info)

Imogen Blackwell is a main character of The Bureau of Magical Things. She is an elf. She is portrayed by Elizabeth Cullen.

Personality[]

She is shown to be rude, untrusting, and distant to everyone she meets, including her brother. She is also seen to be annoyed with other people, especially Kyra and Lily. She is very short-tempered. We see her constantly getting angry at Kyra and Lily. However, she does gradually become a little bit nicer to the others at Maxwell's school, but still insults people at times. She's a bit tomboyish and seems to hate anything "girly".

She is also headstrong, calculating, and career-driven. Imogen's ambition comes from a need to prove herself to her well-to-do parents, wanting to make them proud. Imogen has a low opinion of fairies, seeing them as all talk and no action. She'd rather act than speak. She is a little impulsive and can be self-centered.

Powers and Abilities[]

Biography[]

Imogen attended the DMI Student Awards which were held in the afternoon within the Library. Alongside her fellow students, she stood in support with Kyra when she confronted Jared, Orla, and Sean, making the point that they accepted her for what she was. ("Prize Day")

Trivia[]

  • She doesn't like Kyra when she first meets her, but soon softens up to her, even feeling the need to protect her, as revealed in "Uncharted Waters".
  • She doesn't like fairies.
  • She is part of Maxwell's Magic School.
  • Her brother is Darra Blackwell, another main character.
    • According to Elizabeth Cullen, Imogen and Darra were originally unrelated. However, this changed after she had auditioned for the series separately from her fellow actor and brother Julian Cullen, who would be cast as Darra.[2]
  • Among the actresses that auditioned for the role of Imogen was Karishma Grebneff.[3]
  • Unsurprisingly, Imogen tends to be the cause of most of the group's problems, all due to her stubbornness and inability to think more than one step ahead.
  • When Imogen was transformed into a mermaid in Party Time, she looked like one of the mermaids from H20: Just Add Water and Mako: Island of Secrets.
