Met Alexander a bunch of times and he was always cool.
Can confirm. Very chill
I actually grew up with him. Really nice dude. Always wore a loin cloth, which was kinda weird.
In case you're curious, yes, I'm a Congolese chimpanzee.

I would love to meet Gustaf some time.
Floki
Lucky you!
Can’t imagine family dinners at their house.
I imagine they all just talk shop, like every other family where everyone is in the same profession (and all their spouses are all sitting to the side saying, "Oh jesus, here they go again, honestly don't you get so tired of it?!")
I imagine it’s like the family dinners on Blue Bloods (tv show about 3 generations of cops in NY)
That's how my family get-togethers go. But instead of all cops, it's all prior service members who are now in various construction fields.
Ahhh, the wood was very wood like today, wasn't it, gents??
If they're anything like my Swedish family either everyone is chill while the mature adults sit at a table reminiscing about family, and all the do no gooders are doing what we do. or it's a badass outdoor party that doesn't really start until around midnight.
According to interviews dinners may very well be a Scandinavian variety of nude. Apparently their father was often in the nude around the house even when the boys had guests over.
Is The Northman any good? It’s just popped up on one of my streaming services and I’ve not heard anything about it.
go in blind. it's something you'll either love or hate, not much room for middle ground. if/when you love it, check out the director's other work: The Witch, The Lightouse and (later this year) The Nosferatu.
When I watched The Witch me and my wife were the only ones in the theater and I just let it fully captivate me. I felt like I saw something I wasn’t supposed to sort of when it was over. I was so glad we went see it during the daytime.
The Witch is one of the few movies that’s made me feel suffocated by the tension. Like the way its shot is so isolating that even the air feels dense with dread.
Just watch the trailer for it I don't think I can watch that alone. It looks scary as a'll get out.
And then it misses the mark on the landing completely.
I tell my wife this is blue balls the movie. All suspense and atmosphere with no satisfying pay-off by comparison.
Thanks for the advice, I’ll do that mate.
I totally second going on blind. That's what I did and I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. Going in with expectations set a lot of people up for disappointment it seems.
I’m iffy on nosferatu after they gave Anya’s part to Lilly depp. Egars the goat though, so I’m open minded
Guy likes “The” movies huh?
I had no clue, “the lighthouse” was the same director. Now I can see it, but fuck.
It's so fucking close to being great
Ehhhhhhh I don’t know Jim
I loved it. It's not a perfect movie, but it's visually very cool. Its pacing is a bit all over the place, but that's partially because it's actually based on an old norse story of Amleth, which was the direct inspiration for Shakespeare's Hamlet (In fact, Shakespeare only moved the H at the end to the front)
I definitely recommend watching it, but dont treat it like an action movie. Treat it as a old dramatic stage play.
Yes! It’s a good Viking revenge story. Definitely worth a watch
It’s pretty awesome. Meekus got fawkin’ swolle to play that roll!
I give it a 7/10
I liked it a lot, great story with some wild twists
It's not even Robert Eggers' best movie, but it's good.
It’s amazing. Great Norse telling of Hamlet.
The naked bloody volcano fight is fantastic
Conan the Barbarian (Prestige Edition)
It’s got the most badass title card ever
It’s a decent experience with some captivating moments.
Best movie of that year imo, got completely snubbed at awards shows.
It's wild, well worth a watch
I personally thought it was over exaggerated and kind of goofy. Did not even bother finishing it. But the director has other good work.
I enjoyed it.
It’s the best movie of the 2020s.
They're all talented but my favorite is Bill. Stellan was amazing in Chernobyl.
Gustaf does such a great job as Floki
Literally such a great character! I watched Vikings for Ragnar, Athelstan, and Floki and it was glorious
Lagatha?
Lagertha*
I'll have to check it out
Dude please do. It’s my favorite TV series. The way the blend the mysticism into the show to create the atmosphere, especially in the first few seasons, is pretty top notch. Vikings Valhalla doesn’t quite capture that same essence.
It's one of the rare cases where not caring about being historically accurate was a good choice.
Stellan is amazing in everything, really.
Fact. Academic? Perfect. Pirate? Perfect. Whatever he is in Dune? Perfect. i guess. i didn’t read the books.
Bill was great in Castle Rock and Hemlock Grove.
Alex's intro scene in True blood was such a cool piece
He was the PERFECT Eric Northman. I read the books before the show came out and they really nailed it with him.
Agreed! I did enjoy the books quite a bit.
They’re like the Swedish Baldwins
With much more talent
Personally, I thought Daniel deserved at least an Oscar nod for his role in Harley Davidson and the Marlborough Man.
I was so shocked when I found out Floki was a Skarsgard. His character arc was probably the easiest to deal with in that whole show. Two full seasons of endurance for that sixth season pay off. Great story, good heels, but a tough and borderline annoying watch for a bit.
All four have a certain, defining screen presence, it is really incredible.
I’m watching Vikings right now and it’s getting a bit tough to get through. Hit the point where they jump time where Ragnars kids are older. May have to take a break for a while and come back in a few months.
Seasons 4 and 5 are brutal. I only kept watching because I knew it had to pay off. It does. I'd recommend forging through because if you stop now, it's going to he HARD to jump back in and stay in.
That's where I took a break and never came back...
Alexander in Generation Kill was amazing
I feel really dumb for never putting together that they are all related. I even knew the last names, but it never clicked.
I just thought it must be a really common last name, lol!
Didn't know Gustaf was a Skarsgård.
Hehe
Stellan is my favorite!
are they all actually related?! They’re all such great actors
Stellan is their father
Alexander was skillful in Generation Kill.
That show is way less popular than it should be
Even more interesting is that there are seven of them 🤷♂️
Floki is the best.
FLOKI IS THE GOAT.
The father, STELLAN, the brother ALEXANDER, his brother GUSTAF! And finally… Bill
They are all incredible actors, just a funny progression of names to me
Actually it's Stellar Skateboard
Just watched the react video for Ronin last night. Laughed my ass off every time that was brought up.
Have they ever been in a movie together? I would totally watch it.
Of the top of my head: Stellan and Gustaf were in the Swedish movie Arn. Stellan and Alexander played father and son in Melancholia.
Alexander and Bill were supposed to be in Northman but Bill had to drop out.
Stellan was awesome in Chernobyl.
Whoaaa. Thanks for sharing. That's wild
Is The Northman any good?
If you like viking revenge movies, yes.
Stellan killed it as baron harkonnen
They actually have one more younger brother, Valter Skarsgård, who is also an actor. He has only been in Swedish (their native country) movies and shows so far though.
I saw him in the 2019 Funhouse and oof, movie was awful and he definitely didn't shine.
