John Clegg
"It’s the job of the poet, I think, to create writing which can’t be co-opted. Pressed too hard in one direction, a poem shouldn’t break but should snap backward like a metal spring, maybe taking somebody’s eye out in the process."
Biography:
John was born in Chester in 1986. Since then he has lived in Cambridge, Manchester and Durham, where he is completing his PhD thesis on the Eastern European influence in contemporary poetry. His e-chapbook Advancer was published in 2010 by Silkworms Ink, and a full collection is forthcoming from Salt.
