Junior: Alliance is a great experience for those who want to go there. If you don't want to go then you won't have a super good time. Most of the teachers are really passionate about what they're teaching and/or the clubs that they endorse. There are a few teachers who don't know how to teach, but other than that the teaching is great. The culture itself is a little competitive but, overall, it is an extremely accepting and diverse school that is very supportive and chances are, you won't be alone in anything. I would like to see the counselors take a more active role in helping students. About 50% of the counselors aren't good and I would like to see them be better in helping students.... Read 46 reviews

Parent: I have 4 kids at Pinecrest ranging from PreK to middle school. Pinecrest offers a loving and safe Catholic environment for my children. The teachers and admin work together to make sure each child is getting what they need and also getting recognized for their strengths. They have integrated virtue and character training along with academics with quarterly and monthly awards/recognition, etc. The school is equipped with Priests and Consecrated women to help guide the children and provide the sacraments. Junior: My high school journey has been incredibly enriching due to the unique blend of backgrounds and experiences within our school community. Senior: SFHS itself is a great school, with responsible teachers and rigorous programs that do a good job at preparing students for college. However, compared to our competitor school- Lambert High School, our school culture becomes overshadowed. Administration has become very stingy with what clubs are allowed to do, our arts honor society proposed many ideas, including painting a mural at school, attending a local art market, selling Christmas cards, etc. All have been shut down by the administration. There are also few school-wide events being organized aside from sports, which makes it feel like there's barely any school spirit. Students definitely feel more connected to their individual groups than the student body as a whole, the sense of community at SFHS feels lacking. This can be felt academically too. The school has always been a safe facility with an equal focus on the arts as well as the sports. This balance provides opportunities for both of my children. Alum: Forsyth Central High School was my home. The arts provided a great outlet for me to be myself as I was supported not only by staff but by other students as well. I felt as though I belonged. Money that circulated the school often went to spots and that did hold me back as a student with interest in the arts. In some instances, I would have to pay hundreds of dollars to compete in competition in band due to the music program not getting fully funded. Administration had cut out fundraising opportunities as well, not allowing us to raise the needed money for us to travel to nationals. I cried many tears watching old performances of pervious classes preforming their hearts out and finding out that me and all upcoming students would not be able to experience that. Change is needed. Not only for all future art and music students to be able to experience the joy of travel through their art, but for the community to be proud in what the school offers to students.... Parent: Being at CCA has been a great experience for our daughter and family. She started at Covenant Christian Academy in Kindergarten in the 2019-2020 school year. She has been taught all the basics you expect but in an environment that is loving, kind and Christ-Centered. The curriculum includes Jesus and God's Word throughout, which is why we chose a private Christ-centered school for her education. CCA is a small, humble school with small class sizes and a small campus. It's nothing fancy on the outside, but don't let the appearance deceive you. The teachers are wonderful, the staff is amazing, helpful and patient and the administration is top-notch. In addition, the other families we know from there are wonderful and the kids are kind and loving. We plan on keeping our daughter at CCA unless The Lord has us move somewhere else in the future.... Senior: Fideles is a good school for those ok with a bubble. For the most part Fideles is a school which helps average or above average kids excel. A lot of the teachers genuinely invest in your life and can be really amazing, but just like any school there are teachers who maybe don't fit the standards Fideles pushes. The community there can be amazing - a highlight is the yearly highschool retreat - but with such small grades (ranging from 25-40 students a grade level), cliques can be much more prominent. Parent: My son Nathan transferred out of public school, and we enrolled him at Horizon Christian Academy for his senior year. It truly was the best decision. From the second we met the administration and faculty this school has been amazing. They have embraced my son and us as a family and we couldn't be happier. Academically they offer everything that he needs to be ready for college. The teachers are attentive and helpful as well as patient and understanding. The faculty couldn't be more helpful. Horizon also offers, all the sports and extracurricular activities that the public schools offer. I don't feel like my son has lost anything by going to a smaller school in fact he has gained so much: confidence, a better understanding of his faith and more one on one help if he needs it. He's no longer a small fish in a big pond. My son has felt like he has been a huge part of the school. He even was team captain and MVP of the Varsity Football team. Junior: East forsyth High School gives a look to an above average public school. The higher level academics such as APs and honors classes really demonstrate the dedication in the students of wanting to learn. Even in on-level classes you see a want to take the subject to another level. The teachers at this school have repeatedly put show how much they care for their individual subject and students. Having a block schedule for Wednesday and Thursday give time for long tests, labs, or projects. Administration has had to deal with tardiness on a school wide level. Their solution has been given without interfering with the way the school is run.
