Vishnu Athreya is the Senior Vice President, Current Series at Warner Bros Animation and Cartoon Network Studios. He is the Executive in charge of Production for Craig of the Creek, Adventure Time - Fionna and Cake, We Baby Bears, Batwheels and Bugs Bunny Builders. Athreya is also the Exec in charge of production for the Scooby Doo adult spinoff series, Velma Previously he was the Executive Producer on the Adventure Time Distant Lands Special as well as the award winning series Summer Camp Island, that premiered its final episodes this summer. Athreya reports to Sam Register, President Warner Bros Animation and Cartoon Network Studios in Burbank.

Previously, Vishnu Athreya was the head of Programming for Cartoon Network and Boomerang. Athreya was responsible for positioning and programming content for Cartoon Network, Boomerang and branded non-linear program platforms, as well as creative oversight on Boomerang. Athreya reported to Rob Sorcher, chief content officer for Cartoon Network based at Cartoon Network Studios in Burbank.

Athreya has been considered a big reason for the rise of Teen Titans Go!. Greenlit in 2013, it was during Athreya's tenure as head of programming that the show saw its popularity rise. Now in its 7th season of production, Teen Titans Go! has been a key component of Cartoon Network's success with kids across the globe, being the No. 1 show in almost all countries Cartoon Network broadcasts. While the programming of the show has increased Cartoon Network's overall viewership, he was criticized by the fans of the original Teen Titans on the internet for excessive repeated airings of Teen Titans Go!.

Athreya joined the Cartoon Network U.S. team after his stint as executive director of programming, acquisitions and development for Turner Broadcasting’s kids channels in AsiaPacific: Cartoon Network, Toonami, POGO, Boomerang and Cartoonito.
