My Burgos host said that locals love La Favorita, and I should definitely stop in. So I have a few tapas for lunch (delicious!) and made a reservation to return for dinner. Dinner wasn't quite as spectacular. The "foie" salad was doused in some kind...of brown sauce, and the lamb chops were so thin it wasn't possible to serve them rare as ordered. Disappointing meal in the back restaurant, but I'll go back any day for tapas!More

We booked for dinner at their restaurant (vs the tapas bar) and it was a welcome change from tapas. The food was very good ( we shared a salad and a steak), service prompt and very reasonably priced for the quality of food. Restaurant had...a nice atmosphere and buzz without being too busy. Wish we had found it earlier!More

I can't believe we were at the same restaurant as seen in the photos. The drinks were very reasonable, and beautiful Champagne, but the food was absolutely awful. Luke warm fish stuffed with ham that was cold in the middle. Another fish dish was like...rubber. Won't return for food. We were lucky in that way as when we ordered it was quiet and our lady waitress was extremely helpful and friendly. But 10 minutes later it was like a zoo and they were understaffed to keep up. It is obviously a favourite for locals, so maybe just not good picks by us.More

Excellent Tapas bar and restaurant at the back. Won Michelin awards in previous years. Book ahead. We had artichokes and clams, eggs, cod and mushroom and truffles sauce, and the best tempora prawns and vegetables ever.

Happened to be walking past and they had an empty table in what was a busy place so thought we would try it out. We were very happy we did so, only had food from the Bar but it was all exceptionally good. The service...was just fine and everyone was pleasant and helpful which was great as our Spanish was very limited to say the least. Cannot understand the negative comments on here, although people can have an off day I guess. Our experience was excellent.More

the place is large enough to contain both local and foreign eaters who rush here all day long. Tapas are very nice and tasty, at least 30 different ! Try the beef with gooseliver !

I was in the mood for something traditional at the end of my trip. Good roasted meat and yummy fries. Place has a very loud frenetic feel even late at night.

I love this place. They were simply wonderful. I had been travelling across north of Spain for a week after spending two months in Madrid and really had not thought Burgos would be anything special. Burgos was by far my favourite city and this bar...was simply my favourite experience. The Cava was fantastic and really friendly atmosphere. I must when in Burgos!More

Good for tapas but not one of the best places. Cured Burgos cheese platter was pretty basic. Croquette ok. Good selection of wines

Got there a little early for dinner as they didn't start till 9pm as they do in Spain even though us British are starving by then. So we hit the wine and great choice of tapas. If you're in Burgos it's well worth grabbing a...bite.More

We booked a table for an evening meal and were very well attended to. The menu reflects many of the local dishes and products. Don’t hesitate to ask for recommendations. The staff are helpful and flexible and will suggest combinations and amounts to suit the...group or party. The restaurant has basically three areas, tables on the street outside the premises, tables in an intermediate area around the “barra” for Tapas and lighter meals, and the main dining room at the back of the premises. Well located within the historic centre of BURGOS behind San Gil Abad one of the four must see churches on the single entrance fee bracelet, together with the cathedral, which can be bought at any one of the participating churches.More

Wow ! Not much else sums it up. If I lived in Burgos I would be 10 stone over weight - and this place would be the reason of most of it. Incredible food and wine - service quick and friendly

We booked a table here in the restaurant, on arriving we found the restaurant tucked away at the back very formal and stuffy with a pompous and rude waiter, whose first words to us were ‘NO, NOT THERE!’ when we went to sit at a...table for 2. This put me off straight away so we decided to move to the less formal table section inside the bar area. This waiter took our departure from his section as some sort of personal affront, snatched our menus off us (despite them being the same ones we would be given again in the bar area!) Followed us into the bar area and when we went to sit at a table there told us we couldn’t sit in the area that had tablecloths on because they were all reserved. So we now found ourselves demoted to the un-tableclothed area with a much nicer although totally overwhelmed waitress. The good thing about being in the bar area rather than the restaurant is that you also have the option of ordering tapas. We had a mixture of tapas and things off the menu, food was very average and overpriced. An artichoke and scallop dish had a very gloopy sauce, sweetbreads were a bit overcooked, supposedly wild mushrooms were ridiculously overpriced, best value here were the drinks by the glass especially champagne and Tokaji at €4 a glass. Our waitress Vasi was lovely but overstretched, so overall we wouldn’t rush back here, mediocre overpriced food, Jorgue the pompous rude waiter and overstretched staff are not a recipe for success.More

This place was recommended to us. On arrival we were reluctantly shown into the restaurant it had one customer. We had a very difficult waiter who was reluctant to assist us with the menu or the wine. We shared a very pleasant fish salad followed...by an expensive dish of monk fish which came with no vegatables or any accompanying item whatsoever. It cost 62 euros and was a waste of money. We are experienced travellers in Spain and used to own a successful fish restaurant, we can spot an over smart waiter. We have never had such a poor experience.More
