We booked a table here in the restaurant, on arriving we found the restaurant tucked away at the back very formal and stuffy with a pompous and rude waiter, whose first words to us were ‘NO, NOT THERE!’ when we went to sit at a...table for 2. This put me off straight away so we decided to move to the less formal table section inside the bar area. This waiter took our departure from his section as some sort of personal affront, snatched our menus off us (despite them being the same ones we would be given again in the bar area!) Followed us into the bar area and when we went to sit at a table there told us we couldn’t sit in the area that had tablecloths on because they were all reserved. So we now found ourselves demoted to the un-tableclothed area with a much nicer although totally overwhelmed waitress. The good thing about being in the bar area rather than the restaurant is that you also have the option of ordering tapas. We had a mixture of tapas and things off the menu, food was very average and overpriced. An artichoke and scallop dish had a very gloopy sauce, sweetbreads were a bit overcooked, supposedly wild mushrooms were ridiculously overpriced, best value here were the drinks by the glass especially champagne and Tokaji at €4 a glass. Our waitress Vasi was lovely but overstretched, so overall we wouldn’t rush back here, mediocre overpriced food, Jorgue the pompous rude waiter and overstretched staff are not a recipe for success.More
