Your grades will be very dependent on the teachers you get. A smart student at this school may struggle with a difficult teacher, while someone who puts no effort into school may do better in a subject just because they have an easier teacher. The math and English departments are the most out of tune with each other. Some english teacher are extremely difficult and assign a lot of reading, while some of the english teachers do not even give tests. Same goes with math, many of the teachers are extremely difficult and don't explain well while some of the teachers go through the chapters very slowly and have easy tests.
Arcadia high school is a relatively good public school with an adequate amount of resources that prepares high school students in college. However, there seems to be a toxic culture in this school. As someone who moved to Arcadia from China in my high school years, I felt like I was never able to mix in this community. Half of the school population is either Chinese or Taiwanese descendants, but apparently these Asian American students look down on students like me who are immigrants and speak English with an unavoidable accent.
Arcadia is a community that receives a vast amount of immigration relocation from all of the world, being its location in Los Angeles. However, it seems like it is difficult for immigrants' children to survive in this school. I rarely met anyone in school who is willing to be my friend or listen to my stories. I eventually made some friends after reinventing myself, which was a complete blood bath. This unwelcoming culture to outsiders is suffocating!

My experience at this school was very positive, I think even more positive than average as I’ve avoided some of the rumored happenings. Generally speaking, teachers are very helpful and want you to succeed. Academics and college readiness are quite prominent in student culture in my experience alone. The campus and facilities are extremely adequate and the janitorial staff work hard to keep the school sanitary. We have a lot of resources like technology: Chromebooks and tech personnel. Mental health is continuously promoted to students, there are events and time when the mental health counselor will speak to us. College counselors keep in touch with us periodically throughout our high school years to make sure we’re on track to graduate and prepare us for college applications. Overall, this is a very nice school to attend.
