The Archies Production Cels and Background Signed by Ron Dante Group of 5 (Filmation, 1968 - 1976). Presented in this lot is a unique cel setup featuring cels of Archie Andrews, Reggie Mantle, and Hot Dog, and a background from Filmation's The Archies series! The Archies series was renowned for musical segments co-performed by American Singer and Songwriter Ron Dante, particularly "Sugar, Sugar" (a Billboard Top Ten in 1969). The cels depicting Archie and Reggie playing guitar and Hot Dog dancing were recycled and appear in musical segments in many episodes of The Archies (1968-69) and successive Archies spin-offs from 1971 - 1978. The hand-painted panoramic background of an arcade was created for a musical segment of "The U.S. of Archie" (a patriotic American Bicentennial-era series). Two of the cels are signed by vocalist Ron Dante, Archie's singing voice. The hand-painted cels have character image sizes ranging 10" x 8" to 4.5" x 7" on 12.5" x 10.5" animation cels. The vibrant background painting is established on 28" x 10.5" artists board with inked lines on 12.5" x 10.5" animation cel sheets. The cels and backgrounds are in Very Good condition, exhibiting paint retention and loss, scuffs and wear throughout from handling and age.Loading guides...
