Colorful Tennessee booster Roy Adams dies

Longtime Tennessee booster Roy Adams, known for his football watch parties and occasional run-ins with the NCAA, died on Wednesday at age 77.

Adams, who graduated from Tennessee in 1963, had more than 30 big-screen televisions in his home, according to the Knoxville News-Sentinel. A passionate fan known as "TennStud" in the message board community, he was known to be involved in NCAA investigations as well as playing a role in the investigation of Alabama booster Logan Young's involvement in the recruitment of Albert Means.

In regards to running afoul of the NCAA, Adams once told the New York Times "I knew the NCAA rules, I just didn’t care for them.”
