James Alan "Jimmy" Hunt, II Obituary

James “Jimmy” Alan Hunt II passed away in Arnold, Missouri on May 25, 2021. He was born January 10, 1974 to the late Cynthia Cox and James Alan Hunt. Jimmy is survived by his loving partner of many years, Loretta Dorsey, of Arnold, Missouri; beloved daughters, Madison Paige Hunt and Marissa Nicole Hunt, and their mother Amy Johnson, of Imperial, Missouri, sisters Celeste (Catherine) Hunt, of Beaufort, South Carolina, Dana Withers, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, and Krista (Ryan) Bradshaw, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; father James Hunt, of North Ft. Myers, Florida; Uncles T. Kendall (Patricia) Hunt, of Oak Park, Illinois, Kevin (Jacque) Hunt of Monroe, Washington, and Aunt Susan (Oscar) Laffitte, of Cape Coral, Florida. He was preceded in death by his mother, maternal grandparents Ralph “Mousey” and Mable M. Page; paternal grandparents, Warren Kendall and Dorothy J. Hunt; and special great-uncle and great-aunt, Thomas and Ilah Winn. Jimmy loved to have fun and was a huge sports fan, following the St. Louis Cardinals, Blues, and New York Giants. He loved working with his hands and was currently building and installing pools, which gave him a great sense of accomplishment. Jimmy had a wicked sense of humor and very quick wit. He never let you forget anything stupid you had ever done in your entire life and liked to remind you of your foibles when you least expected it. Jimmy had a huge heart and loved deeply and loyally. He was a good friend to many and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. A Visitation will be held Saturday, June 5, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Memorial Service will be on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at 11:00 am at Maple Hill Cemetery in Sesser, Illinois, where Jimmy will be buried next to his cherished mother. Memorials may be made to Madison and Marissa Hunt’s Educational Fund in c/o Amy Johnson. Checks are accepted, as well as Venmo @Amy121401. Please remember to observe social distancing at this time.
