3g-sdi arduino shield questions

PostTue Nov 27, 2018 2:26 pm

I am looking at getting the 3g-sdi arduino shield but have one question before I buy. Is it possible to send in an SDI input and if the camera is live an LED would go on? I do not have a Blackmagic camera but would like the ability to make my own tally system.

It will do.. But needs an Arduino added to it, and also some custom programming.

You want SDI in from the Atem and have some kind of Tally indication at the camera?

Yes I have an arduino. I just want a system system that says what camera is on so the actors/camera people know. I assume it’s not possible but I’d like to do some sort of walkie-talkie system as well.
First thing will be a light indicator. So just an SDI input, no output. (sorry if this is confusing, new to this kind of stuff.)

What cameras are you using now?

There are some solutions but all depends on budget (If you want to run talkback why not go for BMD cameras.. Then you will have Tally, Talkback and camera control all from the Atem. )

But there are other solutions too. But first off what cameras are you using?

You might think about the Atem Camera Converter. It has build in tally, intercom, hdmi and sdi in and outputs. You need a Talkback converter on the other side. And then you have a complete solution.

Only need some fiber between it. Which can be cheap depending on the type of fiber you choose.
