Time for the Layman
A book written by Stephen Hawking explaining complex physics concepts to the laymen. Scarce use of any science formulae is kept in mind so as not to intimidate the laymen. The result is a phenomenal success in the sales of this book. I, with a science background, read through the book thinking it would be a breezy walk in the park. Despite the genuine efforts by the author, I find it hard to grasp the abstract and bizarre ideas brought forth in quite many parts of the book. I fail to understand how any layman can follow the explanations. But then why they purchased the book? Fair to mention here certain complex parts where I succeed in understanding after a few attempts. Like the German philosopher Immanuel Kant treatment on the beginning of time. Like the chapter on the Arrow of Time. Intriguing and mind stimulating upon getting the idea. Thanks Prof. Hawking!
