- DocAdvilNashville,Tn191 contributionsMy husband and I spent several hours touring these three retired navy ships: a destroyer, a cruiser, an a submarine. All were very interesting. The docents were happy to answer any questions. You could tell they enjoyed their work.
Also, there is a park on site with several war monuments.
This place is well worth a visit.Written 27 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. But modern art lovers will enjoy a visit.Written 3 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- JodieErie, PA1 contributionOur second time glamping (have been hiking at the rocks several times before). It was amazing. I made a suggestion to have a restroom closer to the camp sites last year and it was implemented 🙏🏻. My husband was happy I didn’t wake him in the middle of the night to walk me to the facilities. They really put the clientele’s comfort above all else. The accommodations rivaled great hotels I’ve stayed at. We tried our hands at axe throwing this time and it was another terrific experience. It rained but being able to be under the pavilion and have nature as our backdrop made it even better. Johnathan and family make Panama Rocks a great place for a day trip or a luxurious camping experience.Written 26 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KFS_386Vermont529 contributionsThere are many unique gravesites and some elaborate statuary.
Be advised this cemetery is massive - 270 acres! Keep this in mind if you choose to walk the grounds.Written 12 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The staff super friendly, the museum was extremely informative. There was so much about their lives that I was unaware with and am so glad we came back to go through the Museum. We went to the comedy museum last spring and ran out of time to come here, hands down this was much better.Written 24 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LostInTimePittsburgh, PA20,290 contributionsIt’s a small museum with a tour required. It cost $12. There are some videos to watch which were interesting. The room itself is restored after having other uses over the years. I liked it.Written 27 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RhymesWithCameraLos Angeles, CA81 contributionsThis was our first visit to the Chautauqua Institute. We went for Week 3 and joined some of our friends from California for the week. We had no idea what to expect - and even after the first few days, we were still taking it all in. This gated community has a rich past with hundreds of historic buildings and homes right next to Chautauqua Lake.
We enjoyed a lot of the activities that week - from lectures and concerts at the Amphitheater to plays at the theatre to a steamship tour around the lake on the Chautauqua Belle. We looked forward to our morning walks along the lake and up and down the streets to look at the lovely homes.
The only thing we didn't like was the hotel we stayed at - the Spencer Hotel & Spa. I'll write about that experience in another review. We've already reserved our room for next year at the Athenaeum Hotel.Written 6 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
