    WWE Superstars, or simply Superstars, is a professional wrestling television program that was produced by WWE that originally aired on WGN America in the United States and later broadcast on the WWE Network. It debuted on April 16, 2009 and ended its domestic broadcasting on April 7, 2011. After the final domestic TV broadcast, the show moved to an Internet broadcast format while maintaining a traditional television broadcast in international markets. The show featured mid-to-low card WWE Superstars in a format similar to the former shows Heat and Velocity which served the same purpose. "Enhancement talent" bouts also happened often. Big names such as John Cena, Randy Orton, The Undertaker, and Triple H appeared on the show at its beginning.

The event featured ten matches on December 31, 2009, at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan. It aired on Fighting TV Samurai on January 8, 2010.

    Prisión Fatal (2009) (Spanish for "Fatal Prison") was a professional wrestling supercard event produced by Mexican professional wrestling promotion International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG), and took place on July 5, 2009 in Arena Naucalpan, Naucalpan, State of Mexico, Mexico. The main event was the eponymous Prison Fatal (Spanish for "Deadly Prison") Steel cage match where the last person remaining in the cage was forced to be shaved bald or have to unmask as per the match stipulation. 2009 was the first second time that IWRG used the match concept Prisión Fatal. first held in 2000.

Sara Del Rey was the inaugural champion in JAPW. She defeated ODB on June 27, 2009 in Jersey City, NJ at Caged Destiny. The current champion is LuFisto who is in her first reign. She won the vacant title on October 21, 2017 in a fatal four way at Uprising.

    The CZW Iron Man Championship was a professional wrestling championship owned by the Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW) promotion. The championship was created and debuted on February 13, 1999 at CZW's Opening Night event. The title is currently inactive, having been deactivated on July 11, 2009. Prior to its retirement, Sami Callihan renamed the title the CZW New Horror Championship, which CZW recognized. Being a professional wrestling championship, the title is won via a scripted ending to a match or awarded to a wrestler because of a storyline.

    The Dennis Coralluzzo Invitational was a professional wrestling memorial event produced by the NWA New Jersey (NWA-NJ) promotion, which took place on September 26, 2009 at the Wayne PAL (Police Athletic League) in Wayne, New Jersey; It was held in honor of Dennis Coralluzzo, a longtime New Jersey wrestling promoter and one-time president of the National Wrestling Alliance, who had died on July 25, 2001 after suffering a fatal stroke. As part of the event, his family were present to accept his posthumous introduction to the NWA Hall of Fame. The event was sponsored by Smash Fight Wear, a mixed martial arts equipment manufacturer, and open to the general public free of charge. Twelve professional wrestling matches were featured on the event's card, with two including championships.
