Hotel's Favourite
We needed a hotel for only one night while touring the coast; the reviews are not wrong. Every step of our stay was managed professionally and with the constant friendly charm known to this town. Our room was extremely clean (please tip housekeeping) and wonderfully appointed from the kitchenette to the neat interior design. The grounds allow for parking while encouraging guests to sit in garden areas for coffee, tea…. The convenient location makes the beach, pier, wharf, and State Street for shopping all within easy walking distance. Breakfast items including biscotti and fruit are offered to accompany the coffee available in each room. The nighttime chocolates are a bonus. Checkout can be extended for a small fee. All the staff we encountered from housekeeping to the front desk (Tanya, Aaron, and Cody) seemed to love their jobs as they were keen to enhance our stay. Kudos to hardworking people! We didn’t have time to use the cruiser bikes (free of charge, well maintained, and even a beautiful colour), so we just have to return this week. Room number 7 was ideal for us, and in a few days we will experience room 9 at this quiet, quaint, unique and affordable family owned hotel.

I was very impressed with the owners and all of their employees. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. The standard queen with kitchen that we got was cozy, but was well appointed and decorated very nicely. With respect to drawers and a closet for clothing, there was plenty of storage for 2 people who overpacked for a 5 night stay. The decor was very much to my liking. I have no idea how the style would be described, but they took a cozy bedroom, a very small kitchen, and an average sized bathroom and made it feel like you were actually staying in a nook of a large home... it didn't feel like any hotel that I've been to. Whoever designed the decor for this place deserves big kudos; very talented IMHO. As far as cleanliness, the place was spotless. The bed was very comfortable; it was firm, like we like, but also seemed to have a nice pillowtop to it. The location was quiet, and though we occassionally heard a neighboring room's TV or screaming kid, it was quite muted....not enough to really bother me, and I am quite sensitive to noise. We got a sound night's sleep every night. I don't think one could pick a better location for a hotel. Off the main drag, but close enough to walk and bike to it. And speaking of bikes, they had complimentary 3 speed bicycles included with the rental. They also supplied sanitized helmets and locks if you wanted to borrow one. Besides bikes, they provided beach umbrellas, beach chairs, and beach towels... they also had great recommendations for beaches. The kitchen had a small two seater table, and had a q small under the counter refrigerator freezer (about 3 - 3.5 cubic feet); but it was enough to keep our yogurts, cheese, a gallon of water, and some other drinks cold. It was fine for using as quick breakfast place, or to prepare some snacks, but too small to really want to hang out there for a nice dinner or anything. The kitchen was definitely the weakest spot out of the rental, but it worked out fine for us.

Hotel has very high standard health protocols and sanitation in the pandemic. Stayed in room 118C. The owners have so much consideration for guest needs from slippers to All television and cable networks. This place has everything you need with the well equipped kitchen microwave, coffeemaker, hot pot, oven, toaster etc. This is a five day trip staying in different hotels from Santa Cruz to Santa Barbara. All hotels we stayed in , the water in the shower and the faucet was slimy EXCEPT this hotel. Considering that the water is near the beach five minute walk, The water seemed filtered esp when you shower. This is the only hotel we stayed in this five day tour that has fresh flowers in the room-A true sign of hospitality, and class. No breakfast are being served but snacks are available in the reception. Not to be missed is the family recipe of a banana bread! Don’t look elsewhere. Stay here.

I highly recommend the Harbor House Inn. From the moment my wife and I arrived, we felt welcomed at this very charming hotel. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. I cannot emphasize enough how the hospitality made our stay so much better. We had a deluxe queen studio room which was very clean upon our arrival. The room was very nicely decorated and had everything we needed. There are some nice, subtle touches that show that the owners really care about the comfort of their guests including free Netflix, new slippers for the room (really nice touch!), cordless mobile phone charger, and extra towels. The air conditioning and heating worked great. The room was a perfect size for my wife and me. A major bonus is that bicycle's are available for guests to use. I'll be honest. I was expecting low-end beat up bikes but the the bicycles are new and in excellent condition. Beach chairs and towels are also available for guest use. The location is fantastic--just a block to the beach. Free parking. We got a great rate booking directly on the hotel's website (it was lower than any third party website that I checked). In short, we had a great stay and we look forward to returning. Highly recommended.

The staff at this hotel there treated myself and my son as family. They are a family owned business a few steps from the harbor and beach. Everything is is walking and biking distance, wether it it be the Santa Barbara Fish Market in the harbor, where you can cook your fresh fish in your room, or the many restaurants along the ocean and pier to have your meals served to you. You can walk donw downtown in less than 5 minutes, and have access to bikes to get around. The rooms have Hulu and Netflix in the room, and the best host and maid service imaginable. I would live here if I could!!

This charming hotel exceeded all expectations! The quiet neighborhood location is just a few steps from the waterfront but off the busy main road, parking beside the room, easy walk to beach and restaurants. (Don't miss breakfast at Jeannine's), Each room is differently configured and decorated and with the help of Paul and Cody in the front office, we were able to reserve the perfect room for our particular needs. There was a small kitchen thoughtfully supplied with anything you could need for preparing a light meal and the bathroom offered amenities you would expect to find in any deluxe accommodation. All around wonderful stay!

We loved our experience at Harbor House Inn! The room was very clean and had everything we needed. Despite the room listing stating there was no kitchen, we were pleasantly surprised to find the cabinets full of dishes, glasses, silverware, etc. We enjoyed taking the beach cruisers along the beach path that is just a minute away. The location was easy to find and we had no trouble with parking. We hope to come back soon!

The property has a great location, a block from the beach and walking distance to restaurants and wine tastings near State Street. We stayed in 116c, which is in a well maintained historic building with high ceilings, gas fireplace, comfy bed, and updated kitchen and bath. Kitchen was nicely equipped and even included half and half, butter, salt, pepper, honey, aluminum foil, and plastic wrap, making it easy to cook. Fruit, biscotti, granola bars, and gourmet candy in the office were a nice touch. We enjoyed the free access to Hulu and Netflix. Nice outside space. The hotel was also reasonably priced compared to other similar properties.

The Harbor House is truly a little hidden treasure we found quite by chance on the internet. It is in a perfect location very near the water with extensive bike and walking trails all along the water including beautiful parks and lovely residential areas as well as the famous Stearn’s Wharf. There is a trolly that runs up and down the main street that is very convenient as well. We stayed in the Deluxe King Studio that was so comfortable, quiet, spacious and well-equipped. I have a very strict diet so we always look for a place with a kitchen. This studio has a genuine full kitchen with everything needed to prepare tasty meals and there is an excellent natural grocer Lazy Acres just minutes away plus wonderful seafood. We especially enjoyed the charming outdoor patio area and on site parking. The staff was amazing, friendly and very helpful from booking to arrival to departure. Cody gave us great suggestions for walks, hikes, and local attractions we were not aware of. I highly recommend staying at the Harbor House. You will be delighted with all the amenities and service. We stayed two nights and wished we had booked another two.

The Harbor House Inn represents quality in every way from the moment you check in to when you check out. The welcome basket with snacks, fruit and drinks is an added bonus, not to mention the home baked banana bread. Our room had a kitchenette that also included the basics so we did not have to buy them - paper towels, liquid dish soap and a dish towel. They supply ground coffee for the drip coffee pot as well as filters, and liquid creamer. Everything about this place is generous. Service is friendly. Location is great a block from marina and beach, and a few blocks from Funk Zone with many great restaurants. It was only a few minutes drive from the heart of State Street. This was our 2nd time staying here and look forward to staying again.

We always walk from the Inn to wherever we want to go in town - restaurants and shopping are a 5 to 10 minute walk. You probably won't walk to the Mission from the Harbor House but I would say well over 80% of everything you want to see or do is within walking distance.
