Townsend Harris High School Reviews

Deciding to attend Townsend Harris was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
For starters, the community here is very welcoming, whether it be teachers, students, or admin. Spend a day here and you will see a multitude of friendly interactions between students and teachers in the halls (dapping teachers up, to yelling each others’ names and saying hi in the halls)
Another aspect I appreciate is this school’s active student body. There are several major student-led events that occur throughout the year, and virtually all students participate it in. FON and S!NG are the major events, and during these times, almost the entirety of the student population comes together to put together the productions. The school is always bustling after school, and most people stay late to participate in clubs, attend FON or S!NG rehearsals, or simply hang out in the halls.
I love this community and I would recommend this school to anyone who can handle high academic stress!

Loved the experience and community I got to experience at this school. The workload is truly not as bad as a lot of people make it seem if you have good time management and if you don't or during certain exceptions like a heavy work-packed week or an important week for participants in productions like S!NG or FON, it definitely can get stressful. However, I do wish we had more school spirit and trips/events for students to collectively enjoy together. Opinions on facilities, administration, and resources are all truly subjective but nothing has really stood out to me in terms of praise or critiques.
Townsend Harris High School is a school that I’m proud to attend. The school has welcoming staff and students, and I was able to fit in amongst the group of people. Townsend has a bunch of activities and extra curriculars that once can take part in which helps foster and create new friendships and meet new people. In terms of communicating information to students, that is one area that can be improved as students tend to find out things last minute or not in advanced from staff.
