- Great pressing of an incredible album. If you can’t get this then maybe the 2023 pressing is more easily attainable. Either way, the most important part—the music—is outstanding whatever format you’re listening to. “Raise a toast to St. Joe Strummer, I think he might’ve been our only decent teacher.” Salud
- Well it is a good question mostly unanswerable except in speculation. Here is mine: first Joe Strummer is a legendary musician whose personality & reputation transcend his craft. He well established himself as possessed of visionary world outlook, and quietly strived to bring unity and understanding. Secondly, and most sadly, he is no longer with us, and Streetcore was his final artistic effort, left a bit incomplete upon his sudden death. Third that effort seems to capture all that he was striving for in his music with the Mescaleros bringing a triumph beyond his work with The Clash. Thirdly, this pressing is superb and the vinyl rendition of his work brings a timeless immediacy and intimacy to the listener, and the vinyl records are of a limited supply. Lastly, we have the "vinyl resurgence" as the market (esp. those under 40) begin to recognize that digitized music often lacks the emotional and spacial experience delivered by analog media. Anyway, just my 2cents, and perhaps there is some parallels to the uplift of canvas artists' works when the market recognizes it will get no more. RIP Joe Strummer. Love your work.
- Why has everyone went total flipper on this album. It's never sold for all that much and all the sudden it's well over 100 bucks.
