Brookville High School Reviews
Rating 3.8 out of 5 264 reviews
The best part of my time at BHS was most definitely the relationships I formed with my teachers. They really invested in preparing me for college and it shows! The worst part would be frustration with peers not putting in enough effort with their schoolwork when it disrupted the flow of the classroom and thus disrupted my learning. I would really like to see administration push students to learn and care about school instead of passing them, potentially even when they shouldn’t, in order to keep their numbers up.
Brookville as a whole offers many opportunites through paths such as the Technical Center, the Governor's School, the Early College Program, and STEM Academy. In the building itself, however, acedemics are lacking and the administration is difficult to work with. Student culture is very clique-based, and it can be difficult to find friends. Given recent advancements such as the building renovations and the attempt on the part of the counselors to provide students with resources, Brookville has the potential to grow.
Brookville High School was a wonderful experience for my daughter. She was a member of the Band as well as a sideline cheerleader, a competition cheerleader, as well as a member of the Swim & Dive team. She was a National Honor Society member and attended The Governor's STEM Academy for 2 years. She thrived in and out of the Brookville building. Her teachers were very supportive and she is thriving in college thanks to the base she got in high school.
