Serving as the Ringlings’ winter residence, the stunning Ca’ d’Zan was completed in 1926 and quickly became a social hub for Sarasota. A true architectural marvel, this 36,000-square-foot, 56-room mansion—designed by architect Dwight James Baum in the Mediterranean Revival style—has become an iconic symbol of Sarasota's heritage. The opulent spaces are adorned with imaginative decorations and original antique furnishings.

There are many ways to experience the splendor of this Venetian-inspired mansion, including a selection of guided tours that help bring the house to life, providing an intimate look at the glittering Roaring Twenties lifestyle of John and Mable Ringling.

An Ever-Expanding Art Collection

Since its grand opening to the public in the 1930s, The John & Mable Ringling Museum of Art has continued to evolve its impressive art collection in scope and diversity. What began with 21 galleries has since expanded to encompass the Ting Tsung and Wei Fong Chao Center for Asian Art, the Ulla R. and Arthur F. Searing Wing dedicated to photography and special exhibitions, and the Keith D. Monda Gallery for Contemporary Art showcasing contemporary art. The addition of the Kotler-Coville Glass Pavilion in 2018 introduced a vibrant collection of studio glass art, adding even more depth to the museum's diverse repertoire.
