Noel Murray Los Angeles Times AKA doesn’t add any new wrinkles to the undercover cop genre; but Florent Astolfi’s cinematography is suitably moody, Etienne Forget’s score provides texture and drive, and Lenoir and Dalibert (who co-wrote the script) keep the conflicts clear. May 2, 2023 Full Review Keith Garlington Keith & the Movies (Dalibert) and Lenoir spend a lot of time developing their characters. It’s not especially deep, but we get a good sense of everyone’s position, perspective, and personality. And it all unfolds with a reasonably satisfying amount of suspense. Rated: 3.5/5 May 29, 2023 Full Review Dennis Schwartz Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews The gritty action-pic has its moments when it chills, as the hero uses his fighting skills. Rated: B- May 24, 2023 Full Review Tatat Bunnag Bangkok Post While the plot is familiar and doesn't offer anything out of the ordinary, the storytelling and thrilling action sequences make AKA an entertaining watch and worth checking out for diehard fans of the genre. May 12, 2023 Full Review John Sooja Common Sense Media The action is well-paced, choreographed, and sequenced, and the story is compelling enough, even though it borrows its ideas from many other thrillers that have come before it. Rated: 3/5 May 3, 2023 Full Review Juan Pablo Russo EscribiendoCine Even though AKA had all the characteristics to be a fun action movie, it resulted in disappointment. David M WTF this has 84% on rotten tomatoes? This movie is horrible terrible acting predictable plot boring story. One of the worst movies I've seen in the last five years. How could they be this wrong? Avoid avoid it at all cost Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/07/24 Full Review Hall O Uff. I mean, great acting, gritty, rich story, surprising twist: all very good. But, boy. Lots and lots of people die. Good people, bad people. People working for gang 1 or gang 2 or cops or undercover agents. The few that are not dying are the main actor (who is, in the end, rather unlikeable in how cold-blooded he kills everyone) and two kids. Too much. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/01/24 Full Review bonnie g one of the worst movies I've ever seen. was like watching a video game without completely knowing who were the bad guys. Waste of time Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/03/24 Full Review Andreas P Confusing story line. Trying too hard. Isis, France, drugs, police, family drama, kidnapping, a sick child, and more stereo typical things all mixed together. Good action but nothing special. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 12/31/23 Full Review Pam J Good action, the storyline made sense but there wasn't enough of it. We didn't really know the motivation of anyone in the show. You can guess what could have happened to make people the way they were and they did give some back story eventually to the main guy, but why did he do the first scene? Why were others the way they were, what were they actually doing at the moment? It was unclear. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/27/23 Full Review Mary M Somewhat hard to follow, but story was compelling, with twists and surprises. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/10/23 Full Review Read all reviews
