My time at John Jay College of Criminal Justice was excellent. Courses were interesting and educational due to the instructors and staff's extraordinary expertise and passion for their subjects. Meaningful interactions with professors and individualized attention were made possible by the small class sizes.
The campus itself was clean, contemporary, and full of amenities for students to use, including computer labs, study areas, and libraries. Also, students from all around the city could simply travel to the university via public transportation, which made their commute effortless.
All things considered, I heartily endorse John Jay College of Criminal Justice to any student seeking a demanding curriculum, a caring campus environment, and chances for both professional and personal development. My experience at John Jay was genuinely life-changing. My time at John Jay was honestly transformative and I am thankful for the knowledge and experiences I gained there.

John Jay has a very knight tight community, perfect for people that want to socialize, get out more, and make friends. They provide excellent academic and career opportunities that really make it feel like they want the best for you in your journey at John Jay. While most faculty and students are quite accepting of folks and their differences, discrimination cases do still occur but campus security and the colleges do take extreme measures to those that do this. They are also very pro cop, it personally makes me quite uncomfortable to see a thin blue line poster and photos of them glorifying cops when they claim to be such an immigrant friendly school. Students are listened to about their concerns with how professors run and teach their courses, however they're not heard. Students jump through all of these hoops to get themselves heard only for absolutely nothing to come from it, excepts for their reputation ruined amongst faculty for speaking out. Overall its a 4/5 school.
Reflecting on my undergrad years, my alma mater provided more than education—it offered a toolkit and nurturing environment. The community was vital; I found lifelong friends who supported me. Academically, professors were mentors, fostering critical thinking and curiosity. Diverse courses tailored my education. Beyond academics, practical skills and resources prepared me for adult life. As I step forward, I'm grateful for the transformative experience, the friendships, and the foundation. Choosing this university was one of my best decisions.
