With native bush and bird life surrounds, the peace and tranquility is unparalleled. Unplug and go off-grid, harnessing solar power from the sun, heat from locally-sourced wood, and water collected from the sky. Reconnect with mother earth by taking a barefoot stroll on the beach, or push your limits on the nearby world-class trails of the Old Ghost Road, Heaphy or Paparoa Tracks.

The space
This is my home, which was crafted by our local award-winning builder. The open plan kitchen has generous bench space, all granite, with 2 sinks, and an island bench unit with seating. There is plenty of pantry space and is well-equipped for cooking.
There is a breakfast bar with 4 rimu stools. The large oak dining table has 4 chairs and the spacious living area has a large leather lounge suite, and a dedicated work desk. The Yunca wood burner is the heart and heat of the home.
The floor is recycled native Matai.
The downstairs Queen bedroom has a private double door to the outside deck, and its own bathroom and shower.
The upstairs is exclusively the master Queen bedroom and private en suite, complete with a shower and bathtub overlooking the native bush.
There are no curtains or blinds in the home so to be connected with the rising Sun and the light of the day. Privacy is absolute.

Guest access
You will have exclusive access to the entire home based on the number of people staying, 1 or 2 bedrooms.

Other things to note
Wild Weka Eco Stay is an off-grid property with solar power and has gravity-fed/low pressure plumbing. There is a gas califont for hot water, in addition to solar hot water and the wet-back fireplace. Guests need to be mindful of their power usage and understand this is not a mains power or mains water pressure house. Please respect this off-grid property, follow all instructions, and tread lightly.
SPEED LIMIT IS STRICTLY 20KM/HR. The access off the main highway is shared with neighbours so please respect this and keep to the speed limit. Drive carefully, slowly, and respectfully.
4wd vehicles are recommended but modern 2wd is ok as long as you are a capable driver. If you need help, please ask.
