Law and Order is set to lose a key player in its cast amid significant changes to the program.

Fans will bid farewell to one of their beloved characters, Camryn Manheim, who will make her exit from the NBC show on May 16 during the season 23 finale.

Manheim made her television debut on Law and Order with a guest role.

She first appeared in the inaugural season in 1991 and played various characters on the show in 1993 and 1994.

Her acting credits also include roles in other TV shows like This Is Us, Stumptown, and The Magicians, as well as films such as Scary Movie 3, An Unfinished Life, and Happiness.

Law and Order, a creation of Wolf Entertainment and Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, is steered by showrunner Rick Eid, alongside executive producers Wolf, Pamela Wechsler, Alex Hall, Arthur Forney, and Peter Jankowski.

The series offers viewers an intimate look into the lives of New York's police detectives and prosecutors who tirelessly work to ensure the city's safety.

The teams approach their pursuit of justice from all angles, with integrity guiding them from the onset of the investigation to the case's resolution.

The show celebrated its 500th episode on May 9, featuring Detectives Jalen Shaw (Mehcad) and Vincent Riley (Reid) probing the death of a therapist.

District Attorney Nicholas Baxter (Tony Goldwyn) stepped in for Nolan Price (Hugh Dancy) during the trial due to Price's connection to the defendant.
