Our stay at Pullman Maldives followed our stay at another resort in an overwater pool villa that was absolutely exceptional, so our expectations were quite high.

On arrival, we were given a tour of the island and the basics were explained to us (how to request a buggy, how to make dinner reservations, where they were needed etc). When we arrived at our villa we realized it was not the sunset side as requested and confirmed. Disappointment #1. The villa was nice and clean. Nothing to complain about here other than it wasn't the side we requested.

We found the beach in front of our villa nice, but a bit riddled with large broken shells, etc. Again, we were comparing this to the pristine sand beaches of our prior resort. There was also a berm of sand bags on the beach in front of our villa which does detract from the beauty somewhat. Also on the sun rise side, we had sun on our pool all day and it was smoking hot. The trees/vegetation blocked any breeze that may have cooled it off. In hindsight, we wished we booked an over the water villa here instead of a beach villa.

We ate at Melange the first two nights. Buffet food was good, and the drinks were even better. We appreciated the friendly staff and great selection of beer, wine, and cocktails. We also dines at Phat Chameleon and Souq Oven which was our fave.

We were told to book activities and reservations a day in advance (note that to my knowledge, you are not permitted to book activities in advance of your arrival). We arrived on a Saturday evening and Sunday we went to the dive centre to book diving. We were surprised to find the earliest availability was Tuesday, which, given we flew out on Thursday, was the last day we were able to dive. We booked two morning dives. We were toying with doing more dives, but that wasn't available for us.

At the same time we booked the sunset cruise for Sunday night, and then headed to the watersports centre to book jet skis. The earliest possible booking for jet skiis was the day before we left (so we booked them) and were told that only one jet ski was available, so we weren't able to take them out together as we hoped.

Following this, we went rent bikes (which were almost fully rented out so there were very few options),

Well.. c'est la vie, let's get back to enjoying our holiday!

Overall, the Pullman is a scenic resort with fairly nice facilities,but I found it lacking in level and quality of service as well as availability of activities and optional services.

The good:
- food is quite good. Especially at Souq Oven. The drink selection and bar/wait staff were great everywhere, and my husband enjoyed the free sisha hour at the bar on the sunset side. We also enjoyed the singers/entertainment in the evening at the Hub bar and the HIGHLIGHT of our trip was the diving. Incredible! We saw turtles, sharks, rays, and many fish all just in the first 10 min of our first dive. The equipment was good and our guide very good. Also our sunset cruise that turned into a dolphin cruise was awesome.

The bad:
- buggy service is unpredictable , slow, and at the main places, a bit of a line up at times. You have to wait in the heat so you can see when they arrive.
- the fact that you can't book in advance
- garbage in the surrounding bay and beaches
- lack of privacy in beach villa (grounds workers walk through the front)
- some of the staff don't seem very keen (and certainly not empowered) to provide service... generally complacent.

I loved the experience I had in Pullman, Maldives and it was great to see all the sea animals. Due to the scheduled time of my vacation I cannot stay longer but I wish I had more time just stay. I will definitely come back later with my wife and kids.

perfect place! not only for the beauty, but for the very attentive staff. the best place we could visit on our honeymoon. The Spa is Perfect(massage With Bárbara) and the food is the best the world!!!

The service from the entire staff was 5 star. I want to give a special thanks to the okay at the buffet that remembered my daughter each morning and made her special baby pancakes. They all paid attention to every detail to make this the best trip ever.

The food was great all the way around. Everything was very clearly marked for special dietary needs at the buffet, this was important because my wife must eat gluten free and dairy free, we had no issues the entire week.

The beaches were great, our favorite was by panorama lawn which had great sand bars to explore. The villas were very roomy and we lived our beach front location.

What a holiday just amazing when we arrived on the speedboat our Captain said welcome to paradise he was not wrong! This place will take your breath away from the clear sea to the white beach.

We stayed in a beach villa, it was amazing fantastic large bathroom with a in door and outdoor shower with a private beach.

It was very hot in April and we should have booked a Villa with a pool but that was our mistake and having the sea on our door step wasnt a problem.
The main pool area is so nice and you didnt have to worry about getting a bed it was not busy.

Every restaurant on the island is fantastic food is soo good and service is out of this world. We got bikes to get around island which was so much fun and made the holiday.
We played tennis early every morning and took part in the yoga and also used the gym. All very good.
Just a few negatives
1. Children jumping in pool i have children and know what children are like around the pool but this is such a quite resort with 90% adults so children jumping in over your head is a bit off putting not only for us but i also felt for the parents as most of the guest was not happy! Is it possible to allocate a pool to the children?
2. People walking around the Melange restaurant at lunch time in swimwear! i was shocked that the restaurant manager would allow this! i dont really want to eat my lunch looking at someone in a bikini with all there bits hanging out!
3. Our television was not working for 3 days, everyday someone came to try and fix it, i would have thought at a 5 * hotel they would have put you in a new room ?
would i go back? yes if it was adult only.

Room tip: if traveling from UK book a stop over in Dubai its take 7 hrs to Dubai then you have 4 hours flight to Male then from Male another 1 hour

I have had a profoundly beautiful experience here. They have a lot of facilities and variety of different activities. We especially recommend the following activities:
Meditation/Pranayama/Yoga/Zumba/Aqua Aerobics. Of cause, there more than these activities, but so far, we have participated in activities and have very good experience.
