St. Albans School Reviews
Rating 4.55 out of 5 53 reviews
Some of the teachers are incredibly unprofessional and dare I say terrible at their jobs. There's an English teacher who will leave class in the middle of the period to smoke outside and grades purely based on how much he likes you. You learn basically nothing in his class and despite being "nice" his poor teaching makes his class an absolute waste of tuition money. There's another English teacher who only assigns busy work and is very snooty. She's incredibly elitist and is one of those "I'll only give 3 people in the class an A" teachers-- she does this for her less academic classes as well (such as expository writing). Moreover, the school itself has this strange obsession with "brotherhood" to the point it's basically a fraternity. Though many of the boys are highly intelligent they act like total idiots and do things like bark at each other while on all fours.
St. Albans School is a very enjoyable place. The school environmental is very safe and the facilities are very good. Teachers genuinely care about their students and the overall academics and athletics are immensely important and fundamental to the ideals of the school. Overall, St. Albans School is a 5/5.
As a freshman at STA, having started in 4th grade, I have always been incredibly proud of the school that I go to, and been exceedingly excited and happy to go to school every day. The reasons for this are many, but in my eyes, the clear primary reason for the love of the school that is shared between nearly all of the students here is the powerful sense of community and brotherhood that is interwoven into every aspect of the school from the very first day. In the weekly assemblies, the daily lunches that promote interaction between students in different grades, and the chapels, which give all members of the school a chance to rest and come together, the sense that every person in the school has the back of everyone else is clear. All of that leaves little time to discuss the excellent athletics and academics, which, while posing a challenge to every student, are never too difficult, and the coaches and teachers truly love the school and strive to ensure that every student succeeds.
