From the Dallas Business Journal:
Linda McMahon, the outgoing CEO and president of The Real Estate Council in Dallas, is officially the first CEO of the Dallas Economic Development Corp.
The board of the newly created nonprofit organization unanimously approved McMahon's appointment during a May 7 meeting. McMahon will lead TREC until June 30. She is set to begin her new leadership role July 1.
The Dallas EDC was formed in January 2022 to help Dallas stay competitive against other areas by driving investment opportunities to the city, especially in its southern sector. The nonprofit operates separately from the city and is focused on expanding economic activity and growth in Dallas.
McMahon has focused on some of the city’s biggest issues, such as workforce development and housing, during her four-decade career and has served as CEO of TREC since 2010.
"Linda McMahon's depth of experience and strategic approach to economic development align perfectly with Dallas EDC's mission. Her visionary leadership is exactly what we need to propel Dallas into a new era of economic prosperity," Dallas EDC President John Stephens, former CFO of AT&T, previously said in a statement.
