Mandy Lieu, mistress of Alvin Chau, demanded to hand over luxurious flat

Model Mandy Lieu, the mistress of Macau tycoon Alvin Chau Cheok-wa, has been demanded to hand over a flat which she used as guarantor for a loan to bail Chau out of financial problems.
Melco Resorts (Macau) Limited filed to High Court on Tuesday, demanding Lieu to hand over the flat on the 38th floor of Argenta, 63 Seymour Road, and to repay the mortgage.
It was understood that Lieu bought the apartment for over HK$91 million back in 2014. With a floor area of about 2,200 square feet, the flat is now estimated to be worth about HK$120 million.
According to the writ, the property has been mortgaged to Melco Resorts(Macau) Limited by Lieu on November 4 this year. Sun City Gaming Promotion Company Limited – a company wholly owned by Chau – was the borrower.
It did not specify the amount she should pay.
Chau, who is the former executive director of Suncity Group Holdings Limited and the chairman of its board of directors, was among the 11 people arrested by Macau’s Directorate of Judiciary Police in late November.
They were arrested for running a cross-border gambling syndicate, through which Chinese nationals were arranged to gamble in online casinos based overseas.
