Frederick Albert Reger
<p>Frederick Albert Reger, 86, of Huntington, WV, passed away peacefully on May 6th, 2024 in Shepherdstown, W.Va.</p><p><br></p><p>Frederick (Fred) was born on April 4th, 1938 in Huntington, West Virginia to parents James and Mary Carey Reger. He was proceeded in death by his wife of 62 years, DeAnna Rollyson Reger, who passed on February 21st of 2023. He was also proceeded in death by his brothers, George and James, and sister, Janet (Kirk). He is survived by his sisters, Trudy Reger and Kate Reger and many nieces and nephews. In addition, Fred is survived by his son Shawn and wife Laura; his grandchildren Ryan, Megan and Matthew; and his great grandson Alexi, all of who reside in the Northern Virginia. He is also survived by his youngest son Erich and wife Bridgett; and his granddaughters, Ellie and Paige, who reside in Huntington, W.V.</p><p><br></p><p>Fred Reger was a devoted Art Teacher at Huntington High School and at the Cabell County Vocational Center in addition to other schools during his tenure. He was a passionate artist who loved sharing details of his many works. Fred was a kind man who often reflected upon his earlier days of bird hunting with his beloved sons and dogs. In addition, he enjoyed fly fishing and playing his guitar.</p><p>A Funeral Liturgy will be conducted at 10:00 am on Friday, May 10th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow in Ridgelawn Memorial Park.
