ComingSoon is exclusively debuting a new clip from the fourth episode of Dark Matter, a new sci-fi show that launched on Apple TV+ earlier this month.

The Dark Matter clip sees Joel Edgerton’s character, Jason Dessen, realizing that the multiverse is truly infinite as he struggles to find a way back home after becoming trapped in an alternate reality.

What is Apple TV+’s Dark Matter series about?

“Hailed as one of the best sci-fi novels of the decade, Dark Matter is a story about the road not taken,” the official synopsis reads. “The series will follow Jason Dessen (played by Edgerton), a physicist, professor, and family man who — one night while walking home on the streets of Chicago — is abducted into an alternate version of his life. Wonder quickly turns to nightmare when he tries to return to his reality amid the mind-bending landscapeof lives he could have lived. In this labyrinth of realities, he embarks on a harrowing journey to get back to his true family and save them from the most terrifying, unbeatable foe imaginable: himself.”

Along with Edgerton, Dark Matter stars Jennifer Connelly, Alice Braga, Jimmi Simpson, Dayo Okeniyi, and Oakes Fegley.

Dark Matter is based on the 2016 novel of the same name by Blake Crouch. Crouch serves as the executive producer, showrunner, and writer on the series, while Matt Tolmach, David Manpearl, and Egerton also serve as executive producers. Sony Pictures television produces the series for Apple TV+.

The first two episodes of Dark Matter premiered on Apple TV+ on May 8, 2024. New episodes continue to be released every Wednesday, with the season finale airing on June 26, 2024. The fourth episode of Dark Matter will premiere on May 22, 2024.
