Release[]

The track "Dementus Is Gaining" was released as a single on May 3, 2024 on the date the album was announced. The album was scored by Tom Holkenborg, returning from Mad Max: Fury Road. Regarding the project, Holkenborg stated:

“My collaboration with the incredible George Miller began over a decade ago with our work on Mad Max: Fury Road, a project that marked a pivotal moment in my career as a film composer. Returning to this world to score the odyssey of Furiosa, an epic tale of survival, resilience and revenge has been just as eye-opening and gratifying. Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is a testament to the vision of a singular film maker, whose pursuit of excellence always inspires me to push my creative limits.”[1]

Behind the scenes[]

  • In an interview, composer Tom Holkenborg stated he would not consider Furiosa a normal film score job, due to the years spent talking about the project and how different it was from Fury Road. He stated that his approach was restraint, that whereas Fury Road was super-big and bombastic, Furiosa was "pursuit in a really elemental way." He explained that Furiosa's hate and pure desire to take down Dementus inspired him to go all out aggressive for her.[3]
