Not looking for this necessarily, but if anyone could pull it off, it would be Evan Peters. And I'm saying that as a HUGE fan of Malcolm McDowell, Clockwork and Kubrick.
I agree. I was super pissed seeing the remake part of the headline but Evan peters could pull playing Alex
If this wasn't fake it would be strange to announce it without a director attached

He’s too old to play Alex. He’s more than twice Alex’ age.
Malcolm McDowell was almost twice Alex's age in the original too. Alex is supposed to be 15 and McDowell was 28.
I know! I’m referring to the book, not the movie.
So is your issue Peters's age difference, comparing to the book (Alex was 15 years)? . Peters looks younger than his age (36). Or do you have an issue from the first movie adaptation, considering McDowell was 28?
I love April Fool’s Day
Yuck.
NO
I know it’s a joke but I adore Evan Peters and it’s always struck me how much he looks like a young Malcolm McDowell.
Damn you, r/scarymovies. DAMN YOU.
This is so deeply unnecessary.
God dammit
A Clockwork Orange provides timeless commentary on society.
Everyone might be up in arms about how it shouldn't be remade, but I'm actually ok with it. The movie is now FIFTY years old and the book is SIXTY.
There are whole generations who know it only through referential comedy. It's meant to be difficult to watch and difficult to read because it makes you think. Let's let new generations think with a version they can find more accessible (modern advances in filmmaking, NOT changes to the story).
Perfect actor for the part.
Oh no please don’t
Well I guess it's an unpopular opinion that I think he'd fit perfect.
Good thing the down arrows I'll get don't mean a damn thing.
Am I the only one that’s kinda in?! Evan peters is the perfect guy to cast.
TIL that I'm an unacceptable level of gullible because I've been fooled by almost every one of the jokes posted on reddit today, including this one.
Boy even peters can't stop being cast as fucking creeps
I'm not falling for this.
I'm skeptical, but that casting is fucking on point. I'll probably give it a shot. The Kubrick version will always be there.
this would definitely not work today people would lose their minds
I think once was enough for that film
Annnnnd... that's not gonna work and oh it bombed.
The original is a masterpiece, so..why?
I keep forgetting the date.
This is from a blog on April 1. Please be smarter people!
Jordan Peele could do something with this IP
An updated, (probably) woke version of A Clockwork Orange, brilliant.
Read the room, or at the very least, read a calendar.
lol, yeah that makes sense. I didn't bother reading the thing.
He's going to get burnt out real quick. We're getting too much of him too quickly.
Omfg stoppppp remaking things that were already good and casting evan peters.. its embarrassing
I'm actually interested to see what a reboot of this movie looks like as the original is so gruesome.
The original has also become so overrated over the years as its cultural icon status has grown.
I wish they would somehow remake it with a younger cast. Alex is 15 in the book and many of the others are actual kids. It makes it so much scarier and bleaker.
Gross
Why? Can Hollywood not make anything original anymore
Downvote
i'm sure WB will do it better and this won't be an utter fiasco. no worries at all.

Please tell me this is an April fool's prank!
I know it’s April fools day, but can we please give this poor guy a break from such fucked up roles lol
Ahhh u got my high ass. Had me in the first half
You had me there lol
I have 0 confidence but at least add the removed final chapter and then you’ll have my attention.

I fucking hate people remaking classics they always fuck it up. This however may be the first remake ever to not fuck it up as far as casting is concerned but if it's a WB vehicle it'll probably be hokey AF.
Nothing about this surprises me, somehow
So, uh... I called this 11 years ago.
<pats self on back>
