Fuckin love these kids

The singer looks like Ian Curtis
The drummer drums like animal from the muppets
So anything In between has to be good

They started off as yer usual post punks 00s band
With every album tho , they've dipped and pivoted .

Their new single is astounding
The video is very unnerving

Yeah, big fan. Seen them live a few times and they are brilliant. Their second album A Hero's Death is by far my favourite.

Basically the band IDLES wish they were right?

I Always thought they were musically ordinary but with a charismatic frontman who writes quite good lyrics which is what's carried them really.

I like the new one though, and apparently they're suddenly dressing in massive sliver puffer jackets and massive jeans and saying the new album is inspired by Nu-Metal, so I'm intrigued to see where they go with that and if they mean it, cos millions of bands do the whole "This new one is inspired by G-Funk and drone metal" and then you hear it and it's just more insipid and dreary indie.

dontpaintyourteeth

which band is this, is this the "boys from the matalan" ones?

Absolutely

FDC tune big from their first album is such a clattering mish mash of noise
Seems like their is no chords or even a tune , but it's great and the lyrics are great too

Idles are just fuckin wank ha ha

Love that one lyrics of theirs which seems to earnestly plead:

You tellin' me you don't know this guy Newgate? But you're out here eatin' his beans?

They should be killed for butchering Nick Drake.

that cover is great!

I read an interview with these lads where they talked about reading Yeats and all that, feels like a weirdly regressive idea of Irish literary culture and of Irishness in general. I'd rather Gemma Dunleavy every day of the week. But I don't care for any of the new postpunk really - sorry this is a very negative post but I've written it now. The single with Kneecap was alright!

imitationleather

They did a song with Kneecap? Now I don't know what to think.
