Worked multiple shifts. Management was well balanced. Fast paced but still was able to assist customers with issues. Getting to know the different computer programs was the most difficult.

Overworked

There are typically too few employees for the amount of customers the store got. Management did not side with the employees despite telling us those were the rules, which made us look bad.

Working Retail isn’t for the weak, THD is a decent company

The Home Depot is a rather nice place to work. My managers were really understanding and I never had issues when I couldn’t come in or needed time off. Made some friends and overall the company isn’t out to make life suck. Working in Customer Service was the mistake. I don’t think I’m the type of person that can handle the general public. I worked there for a year and they when I put in my notice they tried really hard to keep me by matching the pay and what not but I just didn’t want to work in retail anymore.

Productive and amazing company to be apart of and grow with as well as an excellent job on your resume for future opportunities.

Customer service representative was sometimes chaotic, but if you live in a fast paced and can juggle multiple things going on at once without the constant need for managerial help then you've come to the right place to have your days fly by. If you like to gain leadership qualities and are easily manageable you will gain a effective and quality mindset that most companies strive to look for in someone wanting to go for bigger and brighter things. In this role you not only do the job of everyone else, but you're there to ensure customers are being listened to and heard from to solidify their needs and their willingness to want to come back because believe me, they would rather go to the Home Depot than anywhere else because of the one on one meaningful communication we have with them that gives them the feedback towards their feelings that we do care about their needs and wants. The Home Depots values are above all else and are the key driving force to make sure this and all else continues to have a legacy of lasting and wholesome impressions that will last a lifetime.

Decent company

I have worked there for over a year. Decent staff and co-workers. Diversity and inclusion is much needed. Lots of training videos. Pay could be better. But overall a pretty great company.

THD is a PREDACIOUS employer with a HUGE PROPAGANDA CAMPAIGN

I have worked at several. The store where I am currently employed is the worst. They do not care about their employees. There is a huge propaganda campaign telling employees that they are like family, but the reality is that they will not work with you on scheduling, pay, upward mobility. Management legitimately predatory. There are about a handful of people of get two days off in a row, and decent pay, but outside of those few, no. When I went to the ASDS (Associate Support....what a joke) because my split days off were driving me to a mental health crisis, I was told, "Everybody wants two days off in a row, but you can't run a business like that." Horrid. They legitimately do not care about their employees. It is so disappointing. In the beginning I believed the propaganda, but now I recognize it for what it is. Save yourself some time and heartache and go elsewhere.

Pros

My direct ASM is great.

Cons

The schedule is a nightmare, and compensation is a joke.

Productive and co workers great

Management wasn’t too bad and having great coworkers really made the job fun. Cons though would be cutting hours and dealing with too much theft. Other than that I’d recommend
