Following their MAAC Championship win, the Siena Women's Softball Team gathered for a watch party on Sunday to learn their fate in the upcoming NCAA Tournament. The event was filled with cheers and excitement as the team discovered they will be heading to Texas for their first-ever regional appearance.

"Just doesn't seem real, these girls have worked so hard," said Coach Casey Bump, reflecting on the team's journey to this historic moment.

Players like Emma Petersen, the team's first baseman, expressed their excitement, saying, "Six seed dreaming, 64 seed dreaming, we're so excited getting to go to Texas."

McKenzie Swinson, an Averill Park native, shared her pride in representing her hometown, stating, "Being a local, I've always kept up with Siena softball, so bringing home the first MAAC title for my hometown is an unreal feeling."

Alyssa Eimont, the MAAC Tournament MVP, acknowledged the challenge ahead, saying, "[Texas] is the number one seed but if we play our game, I think it'll be a good game."

The team's journey in the NCAA Tournament will begin with a matchup against the top-ranked Texas Longhorns in a double-elimination format. If they win, they'll face the winner of the game between number 23 Northwestern or Saint Francis. However, if they lose, they'll play the loser of that game in an elimination match.

The first pitch for their Austin Regional matchup is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Friday, marking a significant moment in the history of Siena Women's Softball.
