Senior coach Chris Fagan has given his side an injection of youth and enthusiasm with the addition of exciting young forward Kai Lohmann and father-son Jaspa Fletcher who will make his highly anticipated debut.

Lohmann, a talented goal sneak, has been rewarded for his impressive VFL form which has seen him boot 21 goals, including a standout seven-goal haul in Round 9 against Coburg.

The 20-year-old comes into the team to play alongside fellow 2021 draftee Darcy Wilmot, while Fletcher joins the Lions’ other 2022 father-son selection and number two draft pick Will Ashcroft.

Brisbane has also brought back the versatile Darcy Fort who gives the option to play forward and ruck, while veteran defender Ryan Lester slots back into defence after producing several strong performances there this season.

The Lions will however be without vice-captain Hugh McCluggage (concussion), and defenders Darcy Gardiner (quad) and Jaxon Prior (omitted).

As well as veterans Daniel Rich and Jack Gunston (managed) as confirmed by Fagan at his press conference on Thursday morning at The Gabba.

"There's obviously the option to go back and play in the reserves, but at their age, I think the best thing we can do for them, to give them the best chance to get back to playing their best, is to give them a training block,” he said.

"For the next weeks that's what they'll be doing, building their bodies up, building their fitness up.

"I'm not sure how long they'll be out for and when they'll be ready to come back, but that's the decision we've made.

"Both those guys are champion footballers.

"You want to give them a bit of time to get back to playing their best football, but they recognised it themselves this week.

"I'm very confident those boys will get back and play some good footy."

The Club has taken a precautionary approach leaving former captain Dayne Zorko out of the side after the veteran experienced calf tightness at training this week.

The Club has named Callum Ah Chee, Jarryd Lyons, James Tunstill, Darragh Joyce as its four emergencies for the match.

The Lions go head-to-head with the Swans from 7:50pm (AEST) on Friday night at The Gabba with the match broadcast live on Seven and Fox Footy.
