So firstly I know we’re under COVID-19 safeguards so not going to mention services discontinued or preventative measures taken which all understandable.

We arrived on the late evening of 26 June, so the front door was locked so you had to buzz the desk. So I’m looking through the window at the night desk clerk on her personal computer sitting at the Breakfast bar when I buzzed. She basically rolled her eyes at me then walked over to the desk to ask what I wanted. I asked if they had any vacancies & she immediately without hesitation said “NO”

However we had just looked at the Hilton Honors app & it showed vacant rooms. So I walked back to my car & my wife and I reserved a room there via the App. I sent my wife in because at that point I was not pleased, my wife went inside after buzzing & saying we had reservations but the young lady said she couldn’t check her in since the account is under my name. So we parked & went inside, I think she knew she was busted when she saw me, and started to be over the top friendly. I didn’t argue or say anything to her because I knew she felt small already.

We stayed for two nights, the rooms were okay & dated, there was no hair dryer or microwave in the rooms. Not sure if hair dryers were taken out due to COVID-19 but if that was the case then the TV remote (which is never sanitized & is the dirtiest thing in the rooms) was still there. Other than that not on par with other s Hampton Inns. The elevator smelled like urine, like they used a mop they use for bathrooms.

Overall it was an okay stay & for the price I got it for I can’t complain too much. Decent hotel but dated, great location though.

In light of the review title:
I was gathering breakfast food for my family and spilled my juice and water. They were both so friendly and helpful while we cleaned it up together. I enjoyed our conversation. Additionally, Isaac always held the door and was a great valet (safe driver, helped a family with a dead car battery, held the door for those coming and going). A handful of other aspects were a mess: I witnessed both sides of an issue regarding double booking one family and another group of people, in addition to their respective complaints about other issues in their rooms (incorrectly sized and questionably clean bedding, thermostat issues). One concierge (a young man whose name I didn't catch) was very kind and considerate about issues that came up. The other two concierges did not know how to handle the situations. Personally, our thermostat, bathtub drain, and bathroom vanity light did not work. Though we enjoyed the downtown location (near so many great restaurants and bars), and we are grateful we had a few bright staff members along the way, we will not be staying here again.

Continually disappointed in the service and the staff. The staff were not interested in living up to the Hilton standard. We were finally moved into a room 3 hours past check-in after being asked to wait in the lobby. We got a room that had no linens or pillows, and had to ask multiple times for them to be sent up to the room before getting them ourselves from the front desk. Our room did not have hot water through the duration of our stay but we weren’t offered another working room until after 9pm. Checked out of our additional room but had access via app for days following raising a HUGE safety concern. I still don’t have our bill cleared up and will considered staying at a different chain of hotels before ever returning to a Hilton Hampton Inn and Suites.

Not a great experience. Husband and I were in town for a concert and chose this hotel due to its proximity to the concert venue. Big mistake. When checking in, I had a question about the price of the room ($50 higher than what I was guaranteed on Priceline). When politely asking about the difference on price, was rudely informed that it was an incidentals charge and that it would be refunded. It just got worse from there. The ac in our room was broken—quite hot and humid outside, so working ac was important to us. Called down to the front desk to inform them of the problem and was told housekeeping would be bringing a fan up. Waited a half hour and no fan. Called front desk again and was told that housekeeping was in their way with the fan. Waited another half hour before going down to the front desk. The lady told me that maintenance was not avail right now to fix the ac and we needed to wait. I asked for another room. After some hemming and hawing, we were given a different room. The new room had a very dirty bathroom (stains in the bathtub, dirty mirror, sticky floor) and had crumbs all over inside the mini fridge. At this point, was so tired from driving 5 + hours and frustrated by my interactions with the staff that I just cleaned things as best I could with hot soapy water and tried to let it go, as we would not be spending a ton of time in the room. When checking out the next morning and relaying my concerns to the front desk staff, the lady said that she was sorry but did not say anything else. I wasn’t looking for a discount on our room or anything like that, but something other than a half-hearted I’m sorry would have been nice. I will not be staying at this hotel again . In fact, I will probably bypass staying at another Hilton property all together.

Hampton Inn is the standard that I measure all the hotels I stay at by. Unfortunately this hotel doesn’t even live up to the standard set by other Hampton Inns. I get that this is an older building in downtown and it is need of a tremendous amount of care and updating. One way I compare hotels is to check the tracks of the elevator doors. The majority of Hampton inns that I’ve stayed at you could literally eaten out of the elevator door tracks. It is an indication of the care and respect that the employees take in doing their job. Not so at the Milwaukee hotel. The hotel is not cared for and not taken care of.
I stayed in the hotel three weekends in a row. On my last check in on Wednesday sept 15 it took three and a half hours to get my room ready even after the head of housekeeping, Tinka told me to my face that she’d do the room herself. It wasn’t until I went up to the floor and found Mikayla cleaning the room next to mine and had her stop and do my room.
No hot breakfast, no breakfast at all, not even a bag with an apple, cupcake and bottle of water. NOTHING! Breakfast suspended due to Covid 19, so is daily housekeeping, and the indoor pool has been emptied.
My first weekend it was almost impossible to take a hot shower. For the first two days the tub faucet was not connected properly, I had to fight to turn the water on. I requested maintenance to fix it and they did. Then the faucet worked. The sink produced scalding hot water. The shower took over twenty minutes to get water hot enough to take a good shower.
The only saving grace of this hotel was front desk staffer Liahana Muan. She is a breath of fresh air and a delight and more importantly knows hospitality. And she breathes hospitality. Always greeted me with a smile and took care of any and all requests. Her shift ended at 11 pm and I would endeavor to get back to the hotel before she ended her shift because I felt so taken care of by her. There are other staff that were of service as well, Isaac from valet.
I stayed in a Hampton Inn in Nashville, TN from August 4 until August 9 and this Hampton Inn had a full hot breakfast with all the bells and whistles you would expect.
So I suspect that Covid 19 was not the real reason for the Milwaukee hotel not providing the hot breakfast mentioned in their phone recording, with no disclaimer that there’s no breakfast.
With what the hotel was charging they should have taken some initiative and provided something, anything.
This faculty is in serious need of updating and some staff that really take pride in their place of work.

Checked in on August 12, 2021 for our Sons wedding. There was a homeless guy sleeping on a couch in the lobby to greet us. The entire property is a dirty, dirty mess. From the floors to the elevators, it hasn’t been cleaned in a long time. I’ve spent 1000+ nights in my career traveling and this is in the top 10 of worst places to stay. When we arrived at our room the desk served as a fried chicken eatery for the prior guest that had not been cleaned. The bathroom has white powder in the tub, not sure what it was??? The bathroom floor was super sticky. My wife wiped the entire room down and then asked the front desk to have the floor wiped down. After several hours my wife wiped it down with soap and water and showed the staff. Disgusting. There is no breakfast as advertised, no daily room cleaning, just towels, and WiFi has been down since we’ve arrived. My recommendation is DO NOT STAY HERE. There are many other great choices in downtown Milwaukee

One website it did not clearly state that the pool, complementary breakfasts and gym were closed off due to COVID. Our rooms heat register, when turned on, made the loudest banging noise(it was 40-25 degrees out). Mini fridge also did not work. We did not report this as it was later at night that we realized this and just wanted to go to sleep. Also if you plan on leaving the hotel plan on paying a lot to come and go as you please as the parking garage is public so you have to pay for every time you leave. They suggested street parking, but that was impossible with the lack of street parking vs. how many people wanted to park there. Overall, I will not be coming back and would not suggest going here. Make sure to call and speak with hotel staff before booking to ensure the amenities you want are actually available to you.

The staff at this location don't lift a finger to help you. They tell you to do it all yourself including towels, blankets, fix toilet, bag checking, noise complaints and the Wi-Fi doesn't work. Worst Hampton Inn I've ever been at by far.

Definitely not up to the Hampton inn standards. Hallway floors are dirty, as are room doors and carpet and tile in rooms. Tub/shower had mold in it and Bathroom wastebin had garbage in it. This property is in dire need of a renovation. Wallpaper is bubbling up, furniture is worn. THEY ARE NOT SERVING BREAKFAST, as website/Trip Advisor said they were. Door to public parking lot is unlocked at night, and it opens to a guestroom floor. (Ours.) does not feel that secure. I didn’t give it a 1* rating because the attendant was very nice and accommodating. I have insisted on staying at Hamptons for 25 years, always knowing they would consistently meet my minimum standards. Not anymore. That’s what I get for not checking Trip advisor first. Didn’t think I would need to. This one was not cheap either.

My family and I arrived to this hotel, and was immediately met with an immensely loud alarm denoting that one of the elavators was out of order. Perhaps I should have taken that as a sign to immediately leave, but I continued to the check-in desk. After checking in, we were presented with a room that was suppose to be clean as indicated by an unbroken seal on the door. However, the seal on the door was broken, and when we walked in, the room smelled like cigarette smoke, was very warm, looked like someone had been sitting on the bed, and the bedding was dirty. We then requested a new room, which was suppose to be an upgrade from our previous room, but not regarding cleanliness. Sadly, in this room, there was a dirty towel hanging in the bathroom the refrigerator was seemingly in need of repair, and the couch was stained. Considering the COVID-19 pandemic, I am appalled by the lack of cleanliness that was displayed. Although the management team was accommodating, based on the cleanliness do not stay at this location.

The restaurant next door to the hotel (Mo's Pub) offers complimentary transportation to and from the Brewer's games. The hotel is within walking distance to the Riverwalk, Third Ward and Old World Third Street - all very popular places with dining, shopping and entertainment.
