Rene Veluzat, born on December 28, 1940, lost his battle with cancer on March 21, 2021. He was a lifelong resident of Santa Clarita. He was much loved by his family and will be truly missed as he was a “one of a kind” guy. Rene was active in the television/movie industry since his early teens in the 1950’s and he joined the Screen Actors Guild in 1983. He wore many hats in that industry as a child actor, stuntman, member of Local 399 as a driver and builder and creator of two movie ranches, Blue Cloud Movie Ranch where many films have been filmed, including American Sniper and Diamond V Movie Ranch aka “Rene’s 50’s Town”. He was also an actor in various movies and television shows over his long career. He won a “Telly” award for his participation in “The Long Ride Home” with Randy Travis and Ernest Borgnine. He semi-retired in 2017 and started to enjoy his life and the fruits of his labor, riding his Harley, driving his many cars and enjoying life at his vacation home at the harbor in Oxnard and tooling around in his Duffy Boat. He had his first book published, “My High Adventures Behind the Movie Scenes”. Rene is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Patti and his son Marcel, as well as his grandchildren, Logan and Holland.
