A man in his 30s has ben arrested following the ‘serious’ assault of a woman in Dublin on Friday (May 10).
A woman in her 40s was rushed to Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown, following an incident outside a residence in the Waterville area of Dublin 15 shortly before 9pm.
Her condition is currently being described as stable following the assault.
Wednesday saw a man charged in connection with the incident, having been detained at a Garda Station in the Dublin Region before being charged.
He is also expected to appear before Blanchardstown District Court on Wednesday morning.
A statement from a garda spokesperson in relation to the assault reads; ‘GardaĆ in Blanchardstown are investigating a serious assault on a woman that occurred outside a residence in the Waterville area of Dublin 15 shortly before 9pm on Friday 10th May 2024.
‘A woman in her 40s was taken to Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown, where her condition is currently described as stable.
‘A man in his 30s was arrested as part of this investigation and detained at a Garda Station in the Dublin Region under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
‘He has since been charged and will appear before Blanchardstown District Court this morning (Wednesday 15th May 2024) at 10:30am.’
