日本らしさある「白川八幡神社」でした。苔が見事でした。
和銅年間（708年 - 714年）創建と伝えられているそうで、とても古さがあり、また地味ですが、とても日本らしさのある立派な神社に見えましたよ。苔が良い感じだったのを覚えています。
ちなみに、白川村のメインのエリアからは少し奥というか、端のほうにありますね。

合掌造りの建物が点在する世界遺産、白川郷の集落の南端に、白川八幡神社がありました。「どぶろく祭り」が行われることで知られる神社です。本殿は普通の造りですが、横の方にあった蔵（？）がかやぶき屋根で、なかなか風情ある古い建物でした。
境内には、大きな杉の木がありました。説明板もあって、それによると、この大杉は推定樹齢３００年、樹高約３０ｍ、幹周約５６０ｃｍもあるんです。白川村を代表する大木として、白川村指定天然記念物に指定されているそうです。

集落の端のほうにあるので、観光客はあまり来なくて静かな場所になっています。
どぶろく祭りなどを行っている地元の神社とのことです。
厳粛な雰囲気で、心が静まりました。
散策の目的地としてよい場所だと思います。

Coming from the parking lot of Shirakawa-go, I walked around the entrance to the village and bought some shiso buns as souvenirs. When I came back, I was at the end of the village, but after walking around the village, I went to pray. There is a sacred tree that looks quite old. There is a festival called Doburoku Festival here, which I am very interested in. It is a festival I would like to come to at that time.

有名な「どぶろく祭り」は毎年１０月１４、１５日に行われる、白川八幡神社の例祭です。
ここでどぶろく祭りが行われるのかと思いながら境内に入ると、杉の巨木が目につきました。説明板もあって、そこには、樹齢３００年であること、白川村指定天然記念物に指定されていることなどが記されていました。

主祭神は応神天皇。
神社旧位置は北方百五十間を離る山越地内なり。東方山腹険阻にして冬季降雪多く雪崩の為押潰され現位置に移転し、元禄年間に社僧仙光院を置く。
旧位置は田に変更開墾し、仙光院抱と定む。隣接地の民家の姓を神田と称し現存す。神社初代は和銅年間なりと口碑に傳ふるも其の間の経歴不明なり。
往古白川郷六厩以北越中の国境十九里小白川に至る四十三ヶ村の大社なり。明治四年旧筑摩縣時代に六厩以北中野まで十八ヶ村を荘川村と尾神以北小白川まで二十三ヶ村を白川村と改称した。
当神社を白川荘川両村の郷社に列せられる。
天下の奇祭 どぶろく祭は10月14～15日。

白川郷の村の中では端の方にあるので、観光客もそれほど多くなく、大きな杉の木のある雪の境内はなかなか良い雰囲気でした。社殿までの階段は雪をよけていますが、少し滑りやすく、要注意です。
