Fan Concept Trailer for Cursed Child Takes Us Back to Hogwarts

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is set 19 years after the Battle of Hogwarts from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. Harry and Ginny have three children – and his youngest, Albus, is finally going to join Hogwarts. It is the last scene from the Deathly Hallows 2 movie, where the OG trio have come to drop their children off at Platform 9 & 3/4. And this serves as the beginning of Cursed Child.

Albus’ Hogwarts journey is very different from his father’s after he gets sorted into the Slytherin House, and everything goes downhill from there. Recently, a YouTube channel named Darth Trailer, released a fan concept trailer for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. And this concept trailer is like taking a trip down the memory lane, as we travel to Hogwarts years after saying goodbye to the school of witchcraft and wizardry.

In the fan-made trailer, we can hear Harry, who is now the Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement at the Ministry of Magic, say:

“19 years… 19 years since Voldemort was defeated and everything changed. But the past isn’t done with me yet.”

We see glimpses of Harry, Ron, and Hermione, as they return to a place they once called home, as a new threat looms ahead. This felt like what a ninth movie in the franchise could be like, and fans are getting nostalgic.

Reading and re-reading the books by J. K. Rowling, and having movie marathons, is nothing new to the fandom, who are never ready to leave Hogwarts behind. And this new fan-trailer has managed to bring us back to our beloved school after so many years. If this fan idea could be turned into an actual project, the fandom would be ready to devour.

Warner Bros. Pictures and Max have been planning on a Harry Potter project for a while now. And though it would be difficult to bring back the old cast members, this could be a way to tell a different story set in the future, but still connect with the world and character the fans have loved for years. Us and the rest of the Harry Potter fandom can only hope that we can go back to Hogwarts sooner than later.
