Barrier – (n.) Something that separates or holds apart.
Ex : There are many barriers that stop people from being successful in business.
Cemetery – (n.) A place for burying the dead; a graveyard.

Cheers – (int.) used as a salutation or toast.

Offensive – (adj.) unpleasant or disagreeable to the sense.
Ex : As Larry's comments were offensive, the boss fired him.
Salesclerk – (n.) a person who sells goods in a store.
Ex : The salesclerk did not know how to explain this product to us.
Shoplifter – (n.) a person who steals goods from the shelves or displays of a retail store while posing as a customer.
Ex : When the shoplifter was caught, the store owner called the police.
Sip – (n.) a small quantity taken by sipping.
Ex : Just take a sip of this cola to see if you like it or not.

Ex : The soldier was standing up straight next to his bunk bed.

Passive Voice - is used when the focus is on the action. It is not important or not known; however, who or what is performing the action.
Ex :
My bag was stolen.
In the example above, the focus is on the fact that my bag was stolen. I do not know, however, who did it.
