Unsafe place to live. Not a lot of career options. Not much for anyone to do or anywhere to go to enjoy themselves. The parks are unsafe, Children cannot go and in peace.
I already enjoy Columbus for its diversity and activities; however, my main concern is safety. Columbus has become so infamous for violent crimes, robberies, shootings, etc. that many locals have given the city the nickname "kill-lumbus." There are lots of wonderful stores, shops, and events that are held out in Columbus, but it would be wonderful if the dangers of the city were resolved.

Columbus is truly a very beautiful place to live. I think it is very conducive for families and adults who are looking to settle down. As a young adult, there are a good amount of things to do, but they can get old pretty quickly. I appreciate that the city is continuously changing and adding new things. To me it's a big little town. While Columbus is the 3rd largest city in GA, it doesn't seem too big by any means!
My overall experience in Columbus is positive. I am aware that the crime rate in this city is quite high, despite that I have never had any experiences with this. I have enjoyed my experience here in Columbus, and I enjoy the bustle of businesses and other recreational areas. There are also a ton of employment opportunities within this area for all fields of studies.
I have lived here my entire life and if I had an opportunity to be raised somewhere else, I wouldn't change a thing.
My experience was good. I be living in Columbus all my life and I can say that I seen my city transformed into a beautiful place to live.
Columbus seems to be a very boring town with high violence. Due to the high crime and high violence in the city, it does make It difficult to enjoy the area.
I have lived in Columbus since birth. I’m seventeen now so I think I can be trusted when asked about this city. What I like about Columbus is there are several black/African American people here in the education industry who teach our children and are leaders of the schools. I also like the many entertainment places we have such as Stars and Strikes, Urban Air, Peachtree Mall, Bowlero, Hollywood Connection, and Launch. What I would like to see change in Columbus is less kids and people in general falling into violence or feeling like they have to live a criminal lifestyle because that is what they grew up around.
I miss the Midwest but I am making the most out of this experience. Crime is high and that makes me nervous for my childrens’ safety. For the time being, we are safe and making each day count.
I would like to see crime and gang violence reduced.
There are great parts of Columbus, GA but the city has a bad reputation due to crime and violence.

Columbus is a city with a lot of potential. Most people that come to Columbus enjoy the history the can find here, whether it be in the numerous museums or in one of the renovated factories that now house restaurants and shops downtown. It also bring in a lot of visitors for the local military base, Fort Moore. Despite all of this, Columbus seems to have hit a standstill when it comes to renovation. To revitalize the city, I would put more investments into renovating the museums and the Riverwalk, which is the walking trail that follows the Chattahoochee River. As a Columbus native, I look forward to seeing this city thrive in the future.
Some nice local restaurants and shops are nearby, and the uptown and oldtown areas are both pretty. However, the housing and general infrastructure of the city could use some work.
One thing that I really love about Columbus is the Downtown Riverwalk. There are numerous places to attend while down there, and it always leaves me curious and wanting more. I would like to see the crime rate change. Our crime level is ridiculous, so I hope that level will go down in the days to come.
I am currently an SRO with the public schools here in Columbus, Georgia. Before that, I was a police officer for Columbus Police Department. I would love to see the community trying to rally and stop the gun violence in the city.
Columbus, Georgia is a very nice area to pursue education and the possibility of retiring in the future. There are several great technical colleges and universities to choose from. Columbus State University is pretty popular as is Columbus Technical College.
Columbus is a bit more of a slow pace as mentioned for a great area to settle down and retire. Fort Benning is right up the street so there are a lot of retired military personnel that live here. It is a great community and there are events monthly to celebrate or inform the population on information within the city.

Columbus can be a little rough at times (especially the roads) but the people can be extremely welcoming, funny, and kind. Almost like your spending time with family.
