'Star' to 'Rasavathi': Tamil movies that are releasing on May 10

Even though the re-release of several blockbuster films pulled fans towards theaters, the lack of new releases disappointed fans. However, this week is going to be a treat for cinephiles, with multiple new Tamil films releasing this Friday. Here is a look at the five Tamil movies that are releasing this Friday, May 10.

Directed by Kavin, 'Star' features Kavin, Lal, Aaditi Pohankar, Preity Mukhundhan, and Geetha Kailasam in the main roles. The inspiring film is about the life of a youngster who desires to become a cinema star. Kavin plays the titular role, and the talented Tamil actor is set to prove his skills through the film. The trailer for 'Star' has hyped the audience well, and the film is set to top the box office among the other May 10 releases.

Arjun Das joined hands with director Santhakumar for 'Rasavathi' and it's going to be a suspense thriller. 'Rasavathi' is set in a Kodaikanal backdrop, and the film is set to take the audience on a lovely trip to the popular holiday spot through the big screen. Tanya Ravichandran plays the female lead, and the film also has Sujith Sankar, GM Sundar, Sujatha, Ramya Subramaniyan, Reshma Venkatesh, and Rishikanth, among others, in supporting roles.

Ameer, the director turned actor who has been seen in supporting roles in recent years, is making his comeback as a lead with 'Uyir Tamizhukku'. Directed by Adham Bava, 'Uyir Tamizhukku' is a political thriller, and the powerful film will make the audience relive some political moments on the big screen this Lok Sabha election season. Vidyasagar scored the music, while the cinematography and editing were handled, respectively, by Devaraj and Ashok Charles.
