Mechanicsville High School Reviews
Rating 3.58 out of 5 356 reviews
Mechanicsville High School is a boring, no-good place. The school is filled with racism, bullying, and guys who care about nothing besides what you can give them. While there are a few amazing people who come out of this school, there's still a lot of bad ones. I only talk to about five people, while I stay to myself when it comes to the rest. The teachers here are amazing though, the bonds I have created have given me more than I could've imagined. They give me all I could ask for, and they are always there when I need someone to talk to. They're more than teachers, they become mentors and friends. Mechanicsville High School isn't a place I would recommend, but the teachers definitely would be an experience to see.
While this school does have some good classes offered, the discrimination experienced by any and all minorities makes it challenging to thrive. Teachers are very hit or miss, and the admin is the worst part of the school. The best part of this school is the IB program (at least for me), and the teachers that come along with it. The building is old and needs to be replaced (they're working on it), but still suits its purpose. It's an unsafe place for queer kids, but the nice teachers try their best.
Stay away !
Go to another school in the county.
There are very few teachers who care anymore.
The sports area joke.
The administration does not care.
The athletic director plays the buddy game.
Choice another school if possible.
