William M. Cohen, D.M.D., M.S.

Welcome to my practice – Greater St. Louis Periodontics & Implants.

My name is Dr. William Cohen and I am a board-certified Periodontist in the State of Missouri. I have devoted my professional career to all aspects of periodontics with special interests in the treatment of periodontal disease and implants.

I am 100% devoted to my patients and am always available. My interest in each patient’s course of treatment extends beyond the care received in my office. I coordinate closely with your general dentist and I always strive for the very best results.

My training began with a four-year degree in Biology from the University of Missouri – Columbia. After I received a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Washington University I received a Masters of Science and a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Periodontics from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill. In 1990 I received the prestigious National Institute of Dental Research Fellowship to study the relationship of inflammation and blood coagulation.

My devotion to the profession extends beyond patients to teaching and mentoring. Since 2000 I have maintained an Associate Assistant Professorship in the School of Dentistry’s Periodontics Department at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. I am an Attending Faculty Member and I teach clinical, surgical, and didactic training to periodontal residents.

To keep abreast of the latest developments in periodontics I regularly exceed the continuing education requirements for my profession as prescribed by the State of Missouri. I share my knowledge and insights throughout my profession by lecturing throughout the U.S. and inviting students, dentists, and fellow periodontists to visit my office to observe me perform the latest periodontal therapies and implant techniques.

I am a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Periodontology, the Missouri Society of Periodontology, the St. Louis Dental Society and the St. Louis Study Club.

My accomplishments would not be possible without the support of my understanding wife and three wonderful children. As a native St. Louisan I enjoy hunting, golfing, fishing, cycling, running and of course the St. Louis Cardinals.
