Gulbarga University GUG (Gulbarga University Gulbarga) was established in 1980 under an act of the Karnataka State. There are 305 colleges that are associated with Gulbarga University in total. The university is accredited by the NAAC and has clearance from the UGC and AICTE. Here, there are 154 courses available at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. GU Gulbarga courses are offered to students in different branches of study such as Education, Commerce, Sciences, Engineering and Architecture, Media Mass Communication, Journalism and others such as B.P.Ed., M.Sc., M.B.A., M.Com., M.C.A  and others. The University has been designated as an affiliating university under Sections 2(f) and 12(b) of the University Grants Commission Act of 1956. From 1970 to 1980, it served as a postgraduate centre for Karnataka University in Dharwad. Gulbarga University fees varies from one course to another.

The GUG admission  is done based on the various entrance examinations and interviews in accordance with the approved admissions process. The institute is situated near Kapnoor Gulbarga, Karnataka's Jnana Ganga. Kalaburagi Airport, which is 10.6 kilometres from the campus, is the closest airport to the university. Gulbarga Railway Station, which is 8.2 kilometres distant from the institute, is the one that is closest to it. The Guest House bus stop, which is 800 metres distant from the campus by foot, is the closest bus stop.
