Seems good place for surfers

Cars are old but work.Written November 30, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. To think this culture and civilization was functioning 1700, and more, years ago at such a high state of efficiency and skill is awesome. Their agricultural technique and sophistication in irrigation boggles the mind. Planting charts exist showing how to plant which plants. Of course the most highly visible and fascinating feature is the metal working. Copper, Gold, Silver all worked and used in ceremonial and hierarchy settings are found in the numerous tombs that have been unearthed to date. Priests, Warriors, Lord and old Lord, Guardian - each tomb holds the accoutrements of their rank, including whether they were placed in a bamboo encasement or a wooded one. Whether there was a female or child buried with you, or just a llama. Did you have sufficient vessels to hold you, how much loot were you buried with. Fascinating!Written June 19, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ChinapjsWashington DC, DC3,638 contributionsThis is a history and mythological tour of the Moche and Chiclayo area told by huge statues of mythical monsters and gods of the area. Really interesting and it takes about 20-30 minutes to walk thru it.Written May 4, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - YS K94 contributionsIt’s nice park. If you are near, I would recommend you take a walk, but don’t go out of your way to visit this place.Written August 14, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- hursthockeycentreCusco, Peru16 contributionsThis is located in a rare Equatorial DRY Forest. One of the few remaining in the World so interesting in itself. There were 32 pyramids found here and a few have been excavated. The views and the pyramid itself are very interesting and impressive. You need a guide to go here.Written October 3, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ruthandvernWilton, CA16,052 contributionsOne of the least ostentatious churches we've seen in Peru. The Virgin Mary is everything in this Cathedral. The huge piece on the left nave was brought from Spain 500 years ago, still beautifully ornate and attractive. The altar is simple and inspiring. The glass windows all entail part of the Mary story.Written June 16, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jerrynu26Barre, VT31 contributionsWe went to this site in 2016, and had an amazing experience touring the grounds. We then were able to walk thru the desert to a river to swim. The site shows iof excavations thru the various levels of temples built on the same site. I was very saddened to see that a fire from the cane fields nearby had affected the ruins.Written March 19, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ruthandvernWilton, CA16,052 contributionsWe thought Mass might be at noon, so we arrived at 11:00. Mass had just begun. We returned at noon as the service ended and got a picture as they were closing the doors. Surprised at the closing. It is an elegant interior.Written June 16, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ruthandvernWilton, CA16,052 contributionsThis city park has no monument or fountain feature, there's a circular pond with water jets, but no water in it. There are trees and seating and walkways throughout and not much else. It is directly across the street from the Santa Maria Cathedral with the Municipal building adjacent.Written June 16, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ChinapjsWashington DC, DC3,638 contributionsChiclayo, specifically the small town of Monsefu, is the self-styled marinera capital of Perú. The marinera is a Peruvian dance, perhaps the national dance that everyone learns as a child. - ruthandvernWilton, CA16,052 contributionsWe were allowed entry by a man standing at the gate when we were looking through at the horseman statue in the courtyard. I'm not sure what opening times and days are, it was Saturday. The statue is a man on a horse. In the rooms surrounding on the bottom floor there are historical pictures and items regarding the early days of the city. Weaving, instruments, etc.Written June 16, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
